Brown may be back for Tigers

RICHMOND coach Terry Wallace and reigning club champion Matthew Richardson yesterday said there was a chance injured forward Nathan Brown would return to the team from injury to play Melbourne next Sunday.
"We've kept him alive while we're alive (and) although he hasn't been able to play the last couple of weeks, he's improving all the time," Wallace said.
"If it's not a live game I just wouldn't risk him. Blokes who have got us through to this stage have done a pretty good job."
Brown hasn't played since the Round 19 loss to Adelaide, but Richardson said he thought the small forward could overcome soreness in his lower left leg.
"Browny is a quality player and we need him in our side," Richardson said.
"Hopefully he can get back next week and we'll get the win and then we'll see what happens for the finals. But we need him back in our side, definitely."
The leg is not the same one that caused Brown complications after a horrible break midway through 2005.
"He did a little bit of training this week, so we'll just see how he comes up," Richardson said.
Brown is believed to have undergone scans last week to check for stress fractures.
