Trade week rumours and scuttlebutt
« on: September 04, 2008, 03:46:57 AM »
Thought I start a thread about trade week rumours and scuttlebutt as there'll be a million of them up to the friday 2pm deadline of trade week.

Here's a rumour from Langdon and Barich out West last night involving us.......

Mundy has asked to be traded to Richmond!!  :P

Warnock definately to leave Dockers.

Eagles will take Natanui if available over Rich.

What the hell will Mundy add to our team.  We already have Thursfield, Moore and McGuane (with Rance in the wings) who are all as good or better than Mundy IMO.  We should be looking at someone who can hold down CHF or an inside mid.

Mundy would be a good get for us, great kick more of a tall winger than a backman. Trade JON for him.

now your talking.....

JON has got to go. even if we get a 2nd or 3rd pick for him we should take it.

dont need mundy, especially for his asking price, any trades done this year will be determined by the percieved value of our fringe players. Trading for straight picks wont happen.

The value of players like Polo, Hughes, pattison will determine whether we trade for any players this year.

We have no need for Mundy, I wouldn't swap anything earlier than a 4th rounder for him

One rumour I recently heard was that Melb would swap Pick 1 and their 3rd round draft pick for West Coasts pick 3 and Warnock. This would ensure WC gets Natanui and Melb still gets Rich.

I don't think we need Mundy - we need a Ruckman, that's who we should be trading for if anyone!

How are West Coast going to trade Warnock when he plays for Freo?

 :lol :banghead

Sorry I just can't tell those Western Australian's apart! :whistle

Fremantle wan't Natanui and so does WC so this trade would effectively give them the leg up on their cross-town rivals without costing Melb much at all.

Too much to lose for Melbourne, they have #1 PSD so should be able to do a much better deal than that

One of the radio stations (can't remember if it was 3AW or SEN) alluded to the same rumour. I didn't pick up on the player included but they suggested that if Melb & WCE swapped first round picks WCE would take Natinui and Melb would get the mid fielder of their choice.

Have to say it sounded strange to me because If Melb has pick 1 they can take the mid fielder and WCE still get Natinui...

Thing that goes against all those rumours is that Melbourne have used early draft picks recently on a key defender and midfielders, they are in dire need of a key forward so will probably pick Watts anyway

Melbourne will go for Watts.

The latest rumour from Langdon is that Cousins to Collingwood in the PSD is a done deal. If this is from the same sauce as the Mundy to Richmond one then it has to be crap. Why would we want another flanker  ::). Mundy is 192cm tall but he doesn't play KP in Freo's defence.

We have to many of his type at RFC anyway, Thursfield, McGuane, Moore and Rance. We dont need another one like Mundy.
