Smart idea but I wonder if these $1 Hawk memberships are counted as ticketed  ::)

Quote
HAWTHORN has been at the forefront of building its membership base and this year created an AFL record with the highest membership tally.
Now a new innovation sees the Hawks offering $1 memberships.
This week they will send out the $1 offers for their final three home games this season.
The offer is available to about 3500 members from 2008 who have not signed this season.
The catch is that those taking up the $1 deal must sign on for a 2010 package.
Hawthorn's 2009 membership hovers at almost 53,000.

The $1 ones sold in 2009 don't count in the final numbers - so they are nothing membships ;D

The Club really needs to sit down and come up with a way to count more of our non-ticketed memberships as ticketed. It's wrong that we are bracketed as a mid-table membership club when we really should be included with the 40k+ group in below AFL releases. We have 47k members and all have Club voting rights. Most of these non-ticketed ones also cost as much if not more than other clubs' ticketed memberships.

Key to our growth is if we can break our Membership record  next year after the annus horribilis we have had.

It will take many die hard supporters to achieve this.

Hopefully a new coach and seeing some promising youngsters in the second half of the year keeps everyone currently on board so we can continue to grow. Apart from the Saints game we've been competitive in our other matches since Rawlings has taken over even with a very young side.

probably the best reason against the tank. a few late season wins could inspire some hope, and keep newer members coming back. certainly worked last year.

Oh dear, we're 9th AGAIN!!!

HAWTHORN 52,496
ADELAIDE 46,472
COLLINGWOOD 45,972
WEST COAST 43,927
CARLTON   42,408
ESSENDON 40,412

Pretty scary numbers for Brisbane & Sydney with 2 new teams coming in
They certainly wouldn't want to canabalise the existing membership bases.
