RFC makes a profit for 2008

The good news is that our revenues continue to rise  + 2mn , combo of marketing and gate receipts, gaming down slightly...The Bad news is a long term provision of a recurring loss attributable to the wantirna club...Not hugely material at 180k a year but would prefewr it to be in the black by the same amount. If we can nail an additional major sponsor and look to introduce another revenue stream,(perhaps Craigieburn way) hopefully not a bloody pub...we will be ok going forward

Given it'll be another 12 months until the Craigieburn facility is full finished with the construction of the pavilion and all let's hope the economy is back on the mend by then when we consider what extra revenue streams to introduce up there.

It looks like we were smart and invested the Government money. Interest received was $295k (up from $64k in 2007) which covered the interest paid $281k. Hopefully the team onfield starts to deliver finals and with the bandwagon and extra $$$ we can knock down the loan.


Notice it also says the club is very confident Ben Holland doesn't have a leg to stand on.

And if he doesn't pull the action, we'll send Nathan Carroll in for Round 2!!!

Hopefully being a young side on the rise we can still attract more non-member supporters to jump on board the bandwagon despite the financial downturn.  It's important to be a member for finals tickets if we make the grade next year. It's vital we start well on-field next season and keep the tiggy train momentum going.

I'd hate to be Melbourne now and no prospect of finals for a few years. If these clubs with small supporter bases have a few poor years in a row the relocation issue will crop up again.

We are coming good at just the right time.

Look at the up side here. Let's hope Nathan Brown and Ben Cousins are fit. Assume they are. We'll have Richo, Brown, Cousins...all superstars capable of leading. we'll have Cotchin, JR, Deledio etc...all potential superstars. Can either Collingwood or Essendon compete with that starpower? I think not.With a fan friendly high profile list like that we will be selling memberships like hotcakes if we can beat the Blues.

I honestly expect a Tiger win R1 before 80,000 people at the G and a surge thereafter.
