PSD
« on: October 10, 2008, 07:49:49 PM »
Unless some player-club relations are patched up, this year's PSD could offer some decent players for those with early picks or big pockets. O'Keefe and Lovett for starters. Cousins of course. Apparently the Blues are going to offer O'Keefe $2m over 4 years. What salary cap  :whistle.

O'Keefe is a year too late for us when we had first pick. With pick 8 we'll probably pass unless we go for another youngster who missed the draft like we did with Whitey and Gourdis.

I see that the Sainters have signed Gardiner again - that will be a reunion with Cousins the disco wont forget.

I'd like to see Richmond continue to use the PSD for the best young hopeful they believe was not drafted (after the PSD training session's) or for project players that may require a continuous AFL environment where the rookie list is not suitable due to relocation costs from interstate.

MT i am pretty sure Lovett had a year to go on his contract, that was part of the sticking point.

Richmond would need to move 3 more players off the senior list to get a pick in the PSD this year.
I doubt we'll participate. I think only the compulsory 2 more will go.

It would have been a long time since we didn't participate in the PSD if we don't. I'd like us to keep it open just in case we like a kid we test after draft day (as we usually do with those who miss out on being drafted) and who w think may not last past 7 clubs to our first rookie pick.

My bad. You're right TFL.

27 is not old and by Wallets prediction 2011 is our year and by that time ROK will be 29/30.

We dont have many players on huge salaries so why the stuff not would you not make this happen.
