Wallace on SEN @ 6.15pm with Leach and Schwarz
* We had exit interviews at end of season with each player as we normally do. Kane mooted the change then. Talked about whether he had 1-2-3 years left. Johnno thought we had guys in our leadership group ready to go. Terry said he thinks the same as we've done a lot of work with our leadership group. Plough told Sugar to go away and think about it and Johnno has come back and said it's time to pass it on to the younger generation.
* Some guys lead anyway (eg: Richo backed away from the leadership group but is still a leader at the club). You want those type of guys plus others coming through and stepping up as leaders.
* No captaincy for Richo. Richo decided to step away from the leadership group 18 months ago. Richo is a hero to all and gets all the rewards and recognition from Tiger fans who love him. This year it finally came from the rest of the footy world as well. Plough thinks Richo doesn't need anymore than that.
* Wholistic approach in choosing the captaincy. Club has never had dual captains and we respect that heritage. We'll stick to one captain.
* Sugar was a quality leader in trying circumstances. Plough believes it's easier to be a leader in a top side. Tougher in a developing or losing team. Johnno showed strong leadership in focusing everyone to where we were heading in developing a young side over time.
* Cogs - don't know what they do in Germany but he hasn't missed a beat since. Played last 10 games at VFL level. Didn't want himn to play AFL. Just get through and get through a preseason. One area he needs to pick up on is power in his game due to missing so much footy. Basically having the power to break away from and out of packs. We'll know within first month of next season. After a full preseason he'll be in. If not it'll be hard work to comeback. Not saying he still couldn't but it'll be hard for him.
* Cotchin - There's always a chance of a high draft pick being moved on as we've seen from the delistings. Not doubts on this kid. We knew from an early age as he trained with us as a 16 year old as part of the AIS academy.
* Polak - we aren't even talking about him playing. Just inspirational that he's training and getting life back from a daily life functioning point of view.
