2nd list lodgement tomorrow (Friday)
« on: November 13, 2008, 07:25:17 PM »
Friday, November 14 (2pm) -- List Lodgement 2.

Does anyone think we'll make any further delistings tomorrow or do you think we've made all our cuts already?

I don't think they will de-list any more unless someone has come back in really bad condition or they aren't pulling their weight at training so far.

Its funny how quickly things change in football.  2 years ago Pettifer was one of the most quoted, interviewed and public of the Richmond players, doing many stints on footy panels, shows, newspapers etc.  12 months on and a drop in form/output coupled with the improvement in some kids and a knee injury has seen him become almost the forgotten man, despised and written off by many supporters.  Personally, I probably agree that we could get rid of him with no detriment to the structure of the list but it just shows you can't take anything for granted in this industry.

You got that right Smokey.

I am one of those people who have changed their opinion of Petts. I was wrapped in his form when he was taking the speccy's, kicking bags of goals and leading right down the ground again and again.  I thought he had realised the potential he had offered for so long.

Then it appeared practically overnight the game changed and forward line defensive pressure was a big part of every teams game plan.  Unfortunately this showed up Pett's glaring weakness, his defensive pressure sucked, he was slapping opposition players in the head and waving his arms around creating little else but wind currents.

I don't despise him though or have written him off and I do hope he can force his way back into the team as he is a tige and I want all our players to succeed as it will mean out team will be stronger.

Same here. Morton arriving has also forced Petts onto the outer.

The other concern which isn't Petts' doing but he is apart of is we'll be carrying 3-4 long-term injured players on our senior list into next year.

Anyway it's after 2pm and there's no news from any club so it looks like we are done and dusted.
