Jonathon Brown verdict
« on: September 08, 2004, 02:30:28 PM »
SEN were talking earlier about Brown getting off the rough play charge last night on the technicality of his headlock occurring not in the "play" so it couldn't be rough "play" ::). Anyway someone rang in about Ty's slamdunking Williams head while the clock had stopped. So technically he also should have got off. This verdict has opened a whole can of worms.

I'm kinda glad he got off - seem to have been singled out when everyone was doing much the same thing. Also he reminds me of some of the '70's Tiger players...ooops showing my age.

As for a can of worms....just watch the AFL clse that lid by rewording the rule. The ump should have checked the rule prior to charging him...could have got him on misconduct, bringing the game into disrepute etc.....maybe he did it on purpose ;D

Well if Brown getting off helps Brisbane to their 4th flag in a row, I'm all for it.

I'd enjoy seeing them peeing Collingwood supporters off for another year  ;D
