AFL forwards Matthew Richardson and Nathan Brown will be keen to demonstrate their versatility when they make guest appearances in a special cricket match in Latrobe next month.

As part of Latrobe Cricket Club's celebrations to mark 50 years in the NWTCA-CNW, it will be holding a Twenty20 match on Sunday, December 7, at Latrobe Recreation Ground, in Gilbert St.

The Goodstone Cup will involve the Latrobe A Grade team versus a President's XI featuring players from other Cricket North-West sides and a few celebrity players.

These include Richmond's former Devonport star Richardson, who has played 276 AFL matches, kicked 791 goals, achieved All-Australian honours in 1996, '99 and 2008, was named club best and fairest in 2007 and has been leading goalkicker a record 13 times.

Tigers' teammate and former Western Bulldogs forward Brown has played 206 AFL matches and kicked 333 goals, achieving All-Australian honours twice and was twice leading goalkicker at the Bulldogs.

Former Tasmanian batsman Danny Buckingham, who played 83 Sheffield Shield matches and scored 4769 runs at 37.25, including nine hundreds and 24 50s, will also be among the line-up.

The day will include a junior cricket clinic at the lunch break open to anyone under-13 who can then enjoy a free sausage sizzle. Richardson and Brown will be available for autographs and a bar will be open for the adults.

The match starts at 11am, with lunch due at 12.30pm, second innings at 1.30pm and presentations at 3.30pm.

An informal sports forum and meet the players night will be at the club- rooms on Saturday, December 6, from 8pm.
