Unfortunately I believe they will reaffirm their stance on recuiting a young player. The don'y believe the administration will change their minds after the rigid stance they took on the PSD in the first place.

Disappointing but consistant. This is another way for the club to implode as supporters will be divided and many will be unhappy regardless.

If its a matter of principle we should select a young player with pick 6 and NOT pick Ben Cousins, but football is rarely about principle its about winning and winning dictates that if Ben Cousins is available at Pick 6 we should pick him.

Ive been on the fence from the start, to me its not even a big deal, I dont care either way, a club is bigger than any individual player, the media have made it a big deal and created an environment where they have roused up the rfc supporters to go against a club decision.

We wont have long to wait anyway, we may find out as early as 5pm today or at the latest tomorrow morning.

That would be gold if we did it  ;D.

The press conference is coming up now. SEN are saying we were expecting a positive response from the AFL but nothing has been said yet.

Disappointed by ruling.

Polak disappointed as well.

Highly unlikely we'll select Ben.

No board meeting tonight.

Haven't told anyone who we're selecting tomorrow.

He keeps reiterating that it's 'highly unlikely' that we'll take him.

Craig Cameron summary

* We're Disappointed with the AFL's decision and so is Polak. We thought we put forward a reasonable application.

* There is 6 live picks tomorrow for Cousins but it's unlikely we will take Cousins.

* The AFL decision was unexpected by us. It is our perogative to take a breath tonight and take time to make a final decision. But it is unlikely we will take Cousins.

* There is no board meeting tonight.

* We haven't made a promise to a kid. However the kid we want we won't be able to get in the rookie draft. He'll be gone before our pick.

* Only in the the last couple of weeks have we discovered Polak won't be playing at all next year. It was then we looked at what senior players were still available.

* There's a difference between being a rookie and being on the LTIL which other clubs would/should have been aware of. You can't play at any level on the LTIL. The doctor could access Polak at Coburg if he was rookie listed.

* Until Polak himself came to the realisation he wouldn't play next year, the club wasn't going to seek to put him onto the rookie list.

I like that part of it it shows our intentions were always true to Polly in his recovery, well done RFC  :thumbsup

Are we sure about I've highlighted?

Going by the Damien Barrett's & Eddie's of this world - who are the experts on this issue nothing has changed in the last couple of weeks...... :banghead :banghead

Shame on the AFL and shame on those who clearly haven't got a clue ... this wasn't about Ben Cousins this was about Polak...

But well done Richmond for your unwavering support of the Graham Polak :thumbsup
