Was a great day, big turn out, damn hot sitting in the sun, but worth it cos I got some great video footage of the jumper presentation. Richo was greeted like the superstar he is, hammed it up for the the fans, then forgot to get his jumper from March lol I thought Post looked like a young Richo, and I think Angus Graham takes over from Richo with the worst hairdo award lol

2JD, do you have any new number allocations to report?

Or have they already been allocated and I've missed it..?

Postie's  a good bloke, thanked us for wishing him luck and spend ages signing autographs!

Not sure about Cotch, I probably didnt pay as much attention as i should have cos I was concentrating on taping and how quickly the battery was going flat lol
Cuz got a good reception, Polly too but his was more sedate. Lids is definitely our pinup boy I think there were even a few screams ala the beatles lol

In regards to the numbers, I'd say they are as they are on the official website, but others will know better than me, I'm not that good with details lol

Great day with a huge turnout - at least double last years numbers!

I was amazed at the line lengths when we arrived but when we wandered over to the first tent and saw a small gathering around the side with Sheeds signing autographs. We hurried over and he posed for a photo with my young fellow. There was lots of people calling out 'Welcome back Sheeds' and 'Go SuperCoach'  ;D. He signed his name with his number (10) which was a great indication that he feels like he has come home.

That tent was a little goldmine for us from that point on as the players keep arriving in carts and then sneaking in the back...but not before we got autographs though. We scored Postie (who is a great bloke - had a chat and was very happy to be there), McMahon (who was getting tired of the whole thing), Cotchin (great photo with my youngen, nice fellow but shorten than I expected) and Moore (funny bloke, almost took off with my sons autograph book on a cart with Browny :D, big unit).

Funniest autograph story was when a big group of supporters were around Hislop and no one near Connors who most people didn't recognise so Connors took off his hat, lined up and got his hat autographed from his mate 'Tizzy' (what the players called Hislop).  :clapping

The jumper ceremony revealed a few interesting points of news including that Cousins, Rance, JON and Vickery will definately be playing this Thursday. TW even said that if a Collingwood person was int he crowd they now know who they are choosing.

JON has a new number (22?) and is being played off the HFF rather than out of defence this year. Sounded like this was his final chance. TW also gave the impression that Hughes was on his last chance too.

Richo was funny - with all the other players they waited until TW gave them an introduction but Richo just waved to the crowd, did a couple of muscleman poses then went to stand at the back of the players forgetting to get his jumper. Bowden tried a similiar act with only a fraction of the response.  :shh

Cotch recieved a huge cheer as did Lids. White was popular along with Simmo and Foley. Cousins recieved a big cheer but was outdone by Richo, Polak and the others I just mentioned which I found interesting. Obviously the crowd felt he had to still earn their love before they gave it in the same outpouring as they did to Richo and co.

great day

All queues were huge today, the membership tent near where I was had Polo, McGuane and Nahas I think.

I wouldn't know how many were sold, but i'll have a guess anyway, 1000+  :lol

Interesting, given our back line is fairly strong with a few decent palyers in the wings, there probably is more opportunity for a position in the forward line.  I haven't seem JON play too much so not sure how he will go there though.

I'm not too sure myself how he would handle this position. I always imagine forwards to be quick and elusive but JON does not fit this mould. Perhaps they intend to use him to deliver the ball into the F50 or kick for goal around the 50m arc? When you compare him to players like Lids, Cousins, Cotchin or even McMahon (who I most feel he is like) he just doesn't rate in this position/role.

He'll need to do something quick because the writing is on the wall for our 2005 No 8 pick.... :-[
