LOL wayne. You never trust preseason form these days but Laidley will be gone by the end of this year if North repeat tonight in the real stuff. The concern for the Roos is apart from Simpson they were at full strength. Losing Pratt will be a big loss in defence too. Looked like broken ribs or a kidney. The only positive for North was Jack Ziebell.

Carlton were as good and playing with high intensity as North were bad and playing with no intensity. A training run for the Blues.

Blues midfield play was excellent and Mitch Robinson was again impressive for a newbie, but if we're looking for weaknesses which Terry and the boys will be (they're at the Dome watching) the Blues are still too reliant on Fev for their goals. They're still going to him most times. It doesn't matter on nights like tonight where they are dominating the midfield and under little pressure but it will be exposed again during the real stuff when defensive pressure is applied by the opposition over the ground especially with the modern midfield zones and sides get numbers behind the ball and sit in the space in front of Fev. Waite also was allowed to be a loose man in defence. He didn't have an opponent all night and just picked off North's long balls into the forward 50 as 3rd man up. Against us he'll have to mind Richo so won't be able to play that role.

Is Kreuzer injured? I saw him go off with a trainer but there was no mention what was wrong.

They look good the blues. If we dont bring our A-GAME in round 1 we will get rolled.

Can you have an  "8 point" game in round 1 ?

I am with you mato73 regarding your comments, and also pre-season or not the Blues are way ahead of us at the moment in ball movement, skill level by hand and by foot, centre breaks and really their overall run, IMO. They are very fit, very fit, I thought they would run out of steam the way they started the game but not to be. The Blues also have a habit of starting every game in a flourish, goal after goal after goal before the oposition realises whats going on, I have seen them do this a lot.

Don't worry about saying wait to the season proper starts, if they take this momentum and self belief into the season proper the will be more then ready for round 1. Carltons foot passing over distance was excellent last night as was their hand passes, I only recall them missing a few targets late in the game when fatigue started to set in. They also run and work well in numbers, they really protect each other and seem to find players in space.

Expect Waite and Gibbs to rotate on Richo, I thought this game would be a walk in the park for us come round 1, after last night pre-season or not I now have my doubts. We will need to be switched on from the first bounce and expect a shoot out.

I can't read anything into this time of the year WAT but I thought the Melbourne Kangaroos made the Bluebirds look better than they are.
Roos were awful.

Yep the Roos were poo but all I am saying is the Blues did look good. If you watched their level of skill last night without knowing it was a NAB game you would think they were in the season proper. IMO they looked good thats all I am saying.
