Richmond 1974 in Underbelly2
« on: February 24, 2009, 02:15:56 AM »
For those interested, a scene on last night's episode #3(?) of Underbelly2 was set in a Richmond done up pub with all 1974 Tiger paraphernalia on the walls and with crims inside singing and celebrating our 1974 premiership win.

Not sure if the scene is up on youtube but if you really that keen to see it and have a spare 800Mb to download  :P it's own the Nine website:

Yeah, unfortunately the 1990's tiger head & shield symbol was also in the pub.  Love the photo of Bruce Monteath in the background, given that he wasn't recruited until '75 !

Also the portraits of Sheeds & Francis were great, would love 'em on my wall !!

Missed the first epsiode of Underbooby and because the trouble & strife and myself were arguing I was on the PC and she didn't let me know what was going on  >:(.

So anyway I watched the second episode of a tale of two titties expecting the same and was very disappointed with the lack of flesh.  However the RFC scene was good to see.

Yeah I think they took some 'artistic licence' with the timeline. I'm not sure to be honest. On the underbelly forum they say they are celebrating a premiership  :-\. Some of the music they used came out a few years later than the period they're set in. It's also really a pub in Sydney that was done up to look like a Richmond pub.

Never watch Underbelly but I was flicking through channels last night and as Underbelly appeared on my screen the first line I heard was "Bloody Richmond Supporters". lol Well that got my interest.

Almost the very next scene the same guy walks into the Richmond pub you are talking about and picks a fight. Well I can tell you I didn't like this guy much from the first line of his that I heard, so when he got pistol whipped to the floor I was more than a little amused.

Fine Australian TV. I like to imagine he was a filth supporter.   :cheers

Don't know what happened after that but I don't think the story could have got any better than it already was. I had seen enough and went to bed happy. ;D
