Blingers was by no means the worst against the Blues unlike McMahon. Richie was named last week before being a late omission so no surprise he's come straight back in. I'd rather Tambling in for Edwards as they are playing similar roles this year. At least Polo has kept his spot.

Robbo tonight on Ch 7 gave the impression Cogs is in. First game back in almost 3 years.

You'll find there's only 1 change:

In: Tambling
Out: Nahas

Typical Wallace... ::)  Obviously no such thing as earning a spot, as long you're an early draft pick and a coaches favourite, you're guaranteed a walk up start...

Not that I think Tambling is going to play, why wouldn't he walk straight back in?  He didn't get dropped, he was injured after being one of our better players in the round 1 miserable effort.  I think he will be picked as soon as he is able unless he misses many weeks and loses condition.

surprised McMuffin was included also...

Who is McMuffin?  Pattison or Coughlan?

thought Nahas was ok for a 1st gamer and if you're going to give someone a go, give them 2-3 weeks to make a judgement, not 1 game then shown the door...

I agree 100%.

Regardless, go Tiges - I give us a chance this week and with a bit of luck, assuming we play with the same intensity as last week, we can win this one...here's hoping...

thats rubbish, tambling is a much better player than nahas and was one of our 3 only good players v the blues. if tambling is fit he definately deserves his spot and nahas is just a vfl, people say tambling is too light , well he is a giant compared to nahas.  watching opposition players running off nahas as he was tackling them was laughable.

BTW  i hope cogs is in, we need him back desparately, fingers crossed his knee and hammy holds up

Agree with that. I had Bling in my top 3 against Carlton.
He's a considerably better option that Nahas at this point.

Outs (from the squad): Pattison, Nahas, Edwards for mine.

Ins: Tambling, Coughlan.

Welcome back Mark. :)

Fair enough - if you believe a half decent game from Bling in round 1 warrants his immediate inclusion back in the side after countless woeful performances over the years, then I'll say no more.  Still doesn't add up why Nahas should be dropped after 1 game...especially after considering that the likes of King and Edwards were liabilities on the day (vs geelong)...why is it that these 2 get a second chance but Nahas, playing his FIRST game for the club, gets made the scapegoat???  Richmond selection panel at their best... >:(

I can assure you Cogs and Patto won't play, and I can also assure you Bling is in for Nahas, unless he experiences more tightness in his hammy between now and 2pm Monday...

Is that fact or guesswork Gooey?

Be disappointing if Cogs wasn't selected ahead of Edwards at least.

No need to.  That's your opinion of Tambling but it's not mine.  I consider him in our best 22 and still with a lot of upside so his re-inclusion is a lay down misère imho.

As I said in my earlier reply, I agree with Nahas.  He showed me enough to give him another crack but I am not of the opinion that this should apply to any first gamer - I just liked enough of what I saw with Nahas to give him a 2nd game.

I don't know anything about you or your sources but if Tambling was with the rehab group all week then I would consider him extremely doubtful for this week.

Fact MM, pending Bling's hammy but at this stage, fact.

Agree, thought Edwards 'deserved' to be dropped.  Would have been happy to see one of Cogs, Collins or Thomspon get his spot - the last two on pre-season form which seems reasonable for Collins, and Thompson by all reports had a good game in the VFL last week...on Cogs, I say give him another game or two for Coburg...if he ticks all boxes, welcome him back for the game vs melbourne or north, which I think will be the case...

I things Cogs is a good footballer who has a crack.
problem through before Cogs did his knee, his kicking was overall poor, with most kicks going only 40 metres. His clangers the 12 mnoths before his knee were extremely high.
He did turn the ball over a lot by foot.
Saying that, if he plays on Monday, I hope he continues his attack on the ball as he did before the series of injuries set in.
Good Luck

Nahas was okay, but yes, Tambling in for him. Coggo - good form, but fitness probably not there yet. Another couple in the maggos for mine.

Cheers Goohuc for the ins  :). I'm glad we are giving Cogs more time at Coburg to get his match fitness up rather than rushing him back. I agree I would have kept Nahas in and dropped Edwards for Blingers. The only thing I think you're being harsh on is there were 17 Tigers who were worse than Tambling in round 1 IMO so while it was still only a half-decent game from Richie it was a half-decent game more than others who kept their place in the side to face Geelong. They'll have final training over the weekend so we'll know if Richie is right to go with his hammy before Monday.

i hope Coughlan plays!

why would you list him in the squad?

just play him!

you would get a lot out of him, then Hislop and Edwards! (sorry to any fans of Tom and Shane)

Hope they wait for a Richmond home game before he is brought in after such a long time injured but conversely, they may wish as little fan fair as possible especially given the huge build up and, consequently, equally big fall with Cousins first game/s.

I would prefer to have him play a couple of games for Coburg and display consistent form that leaves the selectors in no doubt that he has earned his place on form regardless of reputation.

I'm looking forward to when Cogs can get 30+ possessions and, more importantly, 10+ tackles in a game for the Tigers. We need his fight and ternacity but there is no need to hurry him back all the same.
