Time for change !!
« on: April 13, 2009, 04:55:12 PM »
The time has come (yet again) for a total cleanout at seasons end.  The following players must go by way of trade or delisting. Tambling, Jackson, Raines, Polak (bad luck but cant carry him), Edwards, Bowden, Mcmahon, Pettifer, JON, Schulz, Graham, Johnson.
Interesting to note that 2 good players for the Dogs were Higgins & Ward who should have been drafted before JON & McMahon.
Wallace also should be sacked or resign now to give is the best chance of landing a Matthews or Buckley.
Season is effectively over now !!

Some people might say this is a over reaction but the above players will never play in a premiership side.
Today was probably one of the most insipid displays of football I have witnessed as a Toger supporter. Particularly the 2nd quarter which was a total disgrace to the jumper.

not here to be smart but or defend anyone, but JON, sugar, pettifer have not played a game this yr yet!
why not get real honest and say
its time to go white jackson king also and trade foley as he will have value but has no real impact on games because he misses targets more than he hits

Oh yeah and Pettifer JON or Sugar's improvement is ready to be exponentially 10 times better than previous seasons and they deserve to have their places on the list based on previous seasons efforts. In Petts and JONS cases being carried for the last few seasons will mean they will reward that faith in spades in the remaining 19 games hey TigerTime.

while it wasnt their fault today they are part of the reason we are in the position we are in today.

if only we dumped those idiots whilst they had currency maybe we might be in the same position as the hawks.

We will rue the day we held onto schulz, JOn, petts.

Would like to think of myself as a free thinker on the Wallace issue, but it's clear that the time for change has come.

We still have a skill issue.
Our players play like (badly programmed) robots. We want to play an uncontested game, but that does not mean you can forget about contested footy.
The players who seem to have flair and will and who understand the basics of creating space are the young ones. When I watch you Rance run about I'm very excited - the bloke wants to play footy, runs hard into space. I'm afraid he'll go the way of Hughes unless we get a coach who can take them to the next level.

More than that we need to top up again to get a side capable of being top 4, some of the existing younger core need to be tested again and some need a fresh start.

A clean slate would be beneficial to everyone.

Higgins was drafted before JON - by the dogs with pick 7, the pick just before pick 8.

Time for a change of HEART!  That is what's missing.  After the incident with Picken and Deledio yesterday I was waiting for the team to step up and show some heart, stand up for their team mate with some hard play and show that if you take on my team mate you take all of us on and show some retribution within the rules of the game.  It didn't come - not even from Deledio when he returned to the field.

Ok yesterday was bloody awful but how many of us predicted us to be 1-3 or 2-2 afer the first 4 rounds.

I know I did.

That does not mean I excuse the efforts of some of the players or that I think the coach is doing a good job, it just means this is about where I expected us to be.

The thing that worries me is that our guys dont seem to come on. Most high to med draft picks we draft show something but they just dont improve like the other teams do.

Example Edwards, when he first played we we all saying, wow this kid has something, he had skills and was smooth. We thught that a couple of preseasons and some gym work and we would have a player but no we dont. You could pick at least half a dozen like that in out team. Why??

I think they are being asked to not play their natural games, they just all seem confused and when that happens they make errors. Coaches fault or dumb players ? Well I dont know for sure as I dont know any of the personally.

I have so many questions about where players are being played, how they are being used, the way they do things, the way they have developed etc etc. I have come to the conclusion that the Coaching is not up to standard.

Should he be sacked ?? I am not sure about this as I dont now what effect it will have, I am torn. All I know is that we will be somewhere around 7-12 at end of season and thats about what many of us thought at the start. I will have to trust those in power to get it right sooner or later, sooner I hope as I am not getting any younger.
