Now that the dust is settled..
« on: April 15, 2009, 02:50:30 PM »
Has everyone calmed down and just looking forward to going to the footy on Sunday?

For mine the reaction has been way over the top. I also agree with Terry after the Carlton loss to judge the team on the next month following round 1.

Half of that month is over, our 0-1 record has increased to 0-3. Next 2 weeks we find ourselves matched up against Melbourne and North Melbourne. Both must win games to be judged as still alive for the year. if we drop any at 1-4 the big red FAIL flag will be in the air.

19 games left we need to win 12-13 of them to play finals which is what it's all about.

IN: Coghlan, Nahas, Thompson, Pattison
OUT: King, Schultz, Edwards, Graham

Possibly Bowden out for McMahon, poor Joel just looks lost everywhere.

Bring on Melbourne and Go Tigers.

Another new thread FFS?

This was one thing that Rosy was good at, merging multiple threads that were essentially the same topic.

In this case "Changes for next week"

What continue a thread of constant whinging about how poo our football club is?

Just seeing how many people are over the loss and looking forward to the next  game? I think a lot of people have over reacted and would like to see if some peoples views have changed?

YES  YES  YES  YES  NO

Yes Popelord. Lots of people over reacted, I expected us to be 1-2 not 0-3 but hey its close. I would be ok with those ins and outs too

Yes Ramps. We should win by a bundle and I might even have a bit on that myself.

Yes 1965. We probably didnt need a new thread for this

Yes Popelord. I am over it and looking forward

No 1965.  Look at ME, Look at ME

God I love this forum and Tiger supporters, passionate about everything, even the insults and come backs have passion.

I passionately like your avatar Fluffy  :bow

Although we are likely to win on Sunday by over 39.5 points I will almost find it offensive to hear the lads passionately sing the song after beating Melbourne with all the back slapping and innuendo, We had our backs against the wall blah blah blah. What will really impress me is to follow it up against North the following week as it is more important. Beaten North once since 2001 and clearly one of those bogey sides we need to beat to climb the ladder.
Win yes important on Sunday so long as we are winning for the right reasons which is to build momentum for North, Sydney and Brisbane in subsequent weeks which are all winnable games based on evidence we have seen this year, not merely winning to keep the wolves from our door, the papers focusing on Bailey and appeasing us fans who have been let down in the first 3 weeks. Give it a month

Bit harsh, maybe you should review what you wrote, if you ask me, it applys to you more than it does Popelord.
It's that simple Spud
"I discussed (it) with my three daughters, my wife and my 82-year-old mum, because it has really affected me … If those comments … were made about one of my daughters, it would make the hairs on the back of my neck stand up. I would not have liked it at all.”

Have to agree. Gawd how I hate North Melb

Although I reckon they will sing the song (if we win) with gusto more out of relief than anything else
"Oh yes I am a dreamer, I still see us flying high!"

from the song "Don't Walk Away" by Pat Benatar 1988 (Wide Awake In Dreamland)
