On the ABC they said the club called it a buttock, which oneeyed i believe is a glut. Glut, hammy, back, groin it all comes from the one nerve so i expect richo to be having a week off :pray :(

Yep GR it looks unlikely Richo will play next week. He came back on but he couldn't run with any of his usual freedom. He just stood deep to take a tall defender (which helped Jack) and provide a marking contest which we could crumb off. Next week he would have to stand still deep if he played. Well a dud like Lounder once kicked 4 goals leaning against a goalpost so it can be done  ;D.

Bondy on 3AW on the drive home said he will play next week. Was sore but he should be available next week. Not that serious according to them.

Richo in doubt for Swans
richmondfc.com.au
By Mic Cullen 12:03 AM Sun 26 April, 2009

RICHMOND star Matthew Richardson is in doubt for next week's clash with the Sydney Swans after injuring his glute muscle in Saturday night's breakthrough 36-point win over North Melbourne.

Richardson limped form the field in the first minute of the second term with what appeared to be a hamstring injury and went straight to the rooms, but reappeared with his leg heavily iced.

"He had a glute strain, high up in the buttocks – it wasn't a tear or anything like that," coach Terry Wallace said post-match.

"It was certainly very, very restrictive so he just couldn't get into any stride at all."

But circumstances meant the Tigers were forced to send their gun back onto the ground, albeit in a restricted role.

"We got to a situation where we took him off and weren't going to bring him back on," Wallace said.

"But with the nature of the game now, with them having [captain Brent] Harvey off, we knew if he could do a job for us by taking one of their guys to the goal square, that allowed us to keep our guys fresher, because we had one more rotation than the opposition.

"That gave us a big advantage."

Wallace said he wasn't sure if the 34-year-old would play next week.

"He's a chance to play next week – it's just a strain so we'll just have to see how he pulls up and what happens."

its time to rest Richo
This is why Richmond teams fall apart because players who are injured are letting the side down as they cannot carry thier workload
Its time Richmond people woke up & only put 100% players on the ground & we will get more results our way

Matthew Richardson under injury cloud
Bruce Matthews | April 30, 2009

WHEN you are the oldest player in the AFL, any bandage is always going to attract attention.

So speculation yesterday raged over Richmond ace Matthew Richardson - will he or won't he be ready for Sydney at the SCG on Sunday?

While the Tigers insist Richo has nothing more sinister than a bruised left buttock, he did stand (rather than sit) out of both training sessions this week.

The big man wore Skins and support-tights at Punt Rd yesterday, gently sending a handful of right-foot kicks back to teammates and dishing off a few handballs.

A private run away from prying eyes either today or tomorrow should decide whether it is worth taking the gun forward to Sydney.
