The last time we played up there and it rained was under Spud and we won the game with Richo kicking 7 straight  :o out of our total of 10 goals  :thumbsup.

I'm happy with no change as Goohuc mentioned in the other thread. Those 3 ins just named to make up the squad. After last week's team effort it would've been tough to make a non-forced change. Let's hope Richo is really okay and gets through the game unscathed.

All I remember is Goodes winning every clearance in the first half before the ball could hit the ground and with poor Hydey nowhere in sight  :help.

No change but Richo in doubt
richmondfc.com.au
By Mic Cullen 5:05 PM Thu 30 April, 2009

RICHMOND has named an unchanged team for this week's clash with Sydney, but doubt still hangs over superstar Matthew Richardson's fitness.

The 34-year-old strained a glute muscle in last Saturday's win over North Melbourne, and although he returned to the ground late in the match, his movements were seriously restricted.

Jay Schulz, who kicked has kicked 10 goals in the past fortnight for Coburg in the VFL, has been named in the 25, along with running defender Andrew Raines and midfielder Shane Edwards.

Richmond football manager Ross Monaghan said he expected Richardson to play, assuming he got through training on Friday.

"There's every chance that he'll play – he's selected, so unless something unexpected happens he'll play," Monaghan told richmondfc.com.au.

Nathan Brown was left out of last weekend's team that beat North Melbourne because of a groin injury, and Monaghan said the club felt that Brown's long-term interests would be best served with another week on the sidelines.

"Nathan won't play at all this week. He was touch and go but we think another week's rest, with the condition he's got, is going to do him the world of good."

it bucketed rain in the morning. I remember flying into Sydney about 10.00am and driving to pick up some friends in Bondi and it was pouring .... soften up the ground a bit

Really? Mind you Sydney is a funny place. I was in Balmain in the morning - it is quite possible no rain there and teaming down in Paddington.

Whichever way you look at it, the Swans handled the ball and the Tigers beautifully.

what the swans did last year, and do quite often  v fast running teams, is that they let the grass at the scg grow longer and water log the ground to slow it down . they are renowned for doing this  so it forces the game to be slow and bog it down to a contested style of game which they thrive on, thus not allowing any fast runners have any impact.  last year we were not prepared for it and set our structures foe a fast track on a small ground, this year we are prepared!!

watch out its tigertime
