The one I was really impressed with was Vickery. Loved his work in the ruck when he played there. He went up against Laycock a fair bit and his tap work was really good

Is Vickery worth tossing into the seniors or should we leave him at Coburg to instill that winning mentality?

GR12 as I said in my post:

"Having seen what i saw today I would even go as far as saying I'd bite the bullet now and give him a crack at AFL level"

I think we just have to play some more of the kids (Post is one that I wouldn't at this stage) And on top of that the other more senior blokes on our list now and see whether they are worth their spot - first one I'd look at is Thompson, who's game I liked because he attacks the footy and moves it quickly

It does seem silly to recruit a ready for footy player and not use him in this sort of situation!

Very poor.

At least the week before there were some second efforts - only saw a couple yesterday.

Playing with absolutely no confidence and that is being reflected in how he is playing the game.

the sitter he missed in the third (35-40 metres out directly in front) he would normally nail even when he is a crap day - not yesterday.

Thats whats wrong with our club. GOT NO BALLS TO BLOOD SOME YOUTH.

anyone hear Malthouse this morning on SEN. Best part of playing youth is you might find one who can actually play. You might someone who is further advanced that what you thought. eg Steele Sidebottom.

Explain to me how the stuff that waste of space simmonds is getting a game ahead of anyone with a heart beat, let alone Vickery.
What the hell have we got to loose. NOTHING but wallace's pride.

Anyone who thinks he is not selfish just has to have a look at our line up. Still the same old hacks getting a game where youth needs to be tried so our new coach can see what is waiting for.

Watching Simmonds and Brown, particular the former is further proof our club has lost the plot
Currently a member of the Roupies, and employed by the great man Roup.

Exactly.

Round 7 Match Report
coburgtigers.com.au
BENDIGO BOMBERS V COBURG TIGERS
QUEEN ELIZABETH OVAL
SATURDAY 24th MAY

The Burgers travelled up to Queen Elizabeth Oval on Sunday to take on the Bendigo Bombers. Burgers were hot favourites heading into the match having defeated Collingwood last week, while the Bombers sat in last place on the ladder.

The game was to reflect the Essendon and Richmond Dreamtime at the ‘G match that took place on Saturday night. It was marked down as an important game in the VFL draw and had the same theme of celebrating Indigenous talent and the role
which the Indigenous community plays in Australian Football.

In a fiery first quarter neither side produced their best football with both sides contributing clanger possessions to the stats book. Coburg wasted a couple of easy shots on goal but finished the first term with two goals to nil, and a handy thirteen point lead at the first change.
Coburg Tigers 2.4 (16) Bendigo Bombers 0.3 (3)

Coburg improved their work-rate in the second quarter and piled on seven majors for the term. Jordan McMahon ran rampant across half back collecting possessions at will and also ran forward, finishing the match with three elegant goals.

The disposal efficiency rate from both sides lifted in the second term and that reflected on the scoreboard with eleven goals kicked for the quarter. Nick Liddle was instrumental through the midfield as he won a hefty amount of contested footy and a great amount of clearances.
Coburg Tigers 9.7 (61) Bendigo Bombers 4.4 (28)

The flood gates seemed to open after half time with both sides seemingly kick goals with ease. The Burgers piled on another six for the quarter, however Bendigo booted through Seven of their own in one of the more exciting quarters of footy the VFL has seen this season.

Burgers Captain Nick Carnell was outstanding as he set up goals with run through the midfield, before moving forward himself and contributing six majors of his own for the match. Livewire Jack Riewoldt was also brutal up forward as he crashed packs and took some amazing contested grabs also finishing with six goals for the game. The Burgers took a 27 point lead into the final break
Coburg Tigers 15.8 (98) Bendigo Bombers 11.5 (71)

Coburg quickly eliminated any thought of a Bombers comeback in the final term by slotting through early goals. Riewoldt and Carnell finished off their respective games magnificently contributing multiple goals for the term. Jarrod Silvester was again solid in defence for the Burgers spoiling everything that came his way, while Tim Clarke showed his experience in dominating the hard ball gets at the stoppages. Coburg finished full of run with a nine goal final term and a final winning margin of sixty points. The Boys now sit in fourth spot on the ladder with five wins.

This week the Burgers return home to ABD Group Stadium to take on the Werribee Tigers on Sunday 31st May starting at 2pm, with the
Reserves at 11.10am.

Coburg Tigers      2.4 9.7 15.8 24.14 (158)

RESERVES

The Burger reserves had more of a fight on their hands to take the four points. After a fairly even first half the boys booted through six goals in the third term to take a handy 28 point lead into the final change. Although the Bombers fought hard in the last term Coburg fought them off to come away with a solid three goal victory. Damien Rayson booted three goals in a best on ground display while Chris Smith slotted in
with another three. Murphy Ambrose, Matt Deledio and Ben Clifton were all dominant in the Burgers victory.

Coburg Tigers      2.5 7.7 13.11 14.14 (98)
Bendigo Bombers 3.1 6.3   9.7   12.8 (80)

I went along to Bendigo on Sunday. It's worth travelling 4-5 hours on the train (round trip) to see some Tigers get the desired result against the Bomber scum. Unlike walking a mile up the road on Saturday night to watch them tease, tease, tease and capitulate yet again.
The first term was pretty fiery, with a player called Hurley constantly sniping at Jack off the ball. My mate and I were giving it to him, calling him "Girlie" and such. A bunch of Coburg 2nd's players (including Polak), who like us were following the forwards from end to end also ripped into him a fair bit.I saw on the news last night that Hurley broke his wrist. Considering that he probably did it on Jack's chin, I have no sympathy for him :lol
I have to disagree with William Powell's assessment of Gourdis that he constantly played from behind trying to take the speccie, and didn't have much impact. Rawlings gave all the forwards a bit of a bake at 1/4 time for doing that. But eventually they improved. Gourdis chased and contested well.A couple of times he swooped out of nowhere on Bomber players trying to clear, dragged them down and was rewarded. He finished the day with 2 goals, and a couple of narrow misses, including a spectacular hook over the shoulder that nearly went through. Admittedly his kicking action is a bit "David Cloke-esque" :lol and his kicks sometimes waft off the boot at odd angles. But I'd love to see him get a chance at Richmond. He basically has the height and physique of Rance, with the speed of Deledio, and he is prepared to work hard to lock the ball into our forward line. He could be a valuable asset.
I'd like to see Gus (hopefully he's fit) and Vickery come in this week for Simmonds and Pattison. I know Patto tries hard, and KPP's take longer as they say. But in his 5th year, he's shown that he's just not up to AFL standard. As for Simmo, does anybody remember his non-effort at that vital stage in the 3rd term? The Bummers were making their tilt at us,and we desperately needed a steadying goal. We had it in our forward pocket but were struggling to roost it over, under immense pressure. Simmo was standing on his own in the goalsquare waiting for the feed that never came.He only had to run 15m for a pass that our deliverer could have managed under the pressure,or 25m to actually muck in and help him. But he just stood and spectated, the ball was swept away, and they kicked another goal. For a guy who was named as one of the loudest agitators to sack Wallace last week, he could have made a statement that he was committed to the cause. Instead, his body language on several occasions seemed to suggest that he really isn't interested anymore. Time to move him on and give a kid a go I reckon.

nothing to do with their playing or not, has to do with what is wrong with them. lets just say they have the same issues but caused by different things . :shh
