Correct.  Mentally weak.

Our players drop their heads after 2 goals and throw their arms up and say it's all too hard.

I got home to watch the end of the game and watched Essendon kick 8 goals.

Looks like Tambling, Bowden and Foley are the only ones who truly give a stuff and are willing to put in when the going gets tough.

Our Captain Courageous Newman has been unsighted.  :-\

Unfortunantely politics will dictate who will stay and who will go.

The players will have the biggest say in it.
WAT yep how do you get 22 points up and lose?
What we saw in the last 45 mins was a team who played sack the coach footy.
Not sacking the coach because he can't coach but sacking the coach because they don't want him there. He has lost the playing group.

Two biggest games for the club this year with the biggest national tv audience tonight and rd 1 and the players showed what they though of the coach in the last year of his contract.

The players are talking.
I know its heartbreaking for all us Tiger fams to as we thought even for a brief moment we were a show in the 1st 2nd and 3rd quarters only to be let down again but the charade is starting to take its toll on the fans and will start to do so on the players hence the traumatic week we have had.

You are right it is the players and their rd 1,3,4,7,and 9 showing is testament to this and the reason why at years end Terry needs to go but as I said not because he can't coach or whatever as he has shown a capacity to coach in the past but because the most important people the coach has to work with (The Players) don't want him there and hence these results.

The club will continue with the players of course but the coach is always the variance. Please understand this WAT that the club will not win another game until either it becomes public

A) Terry is sacked as of a specific moment rd 12 , Tuesday or whatever
B) Terry tenure will not be extended beyond rd 22 2009.
C) Terry resigns as of a specific moment.

Thats the simplicity of it. Players are playing sack the coach footy. Have been for 75% of this season.

Definitely the players
It's too easy to blame the coach, but he isn't the one who tells them to stop running

what was real obvious tonight was this.
In the first half we didnt once go backswards sideways etc with short kicks.
we played quick transition in the first half and kicked fairly long.

2nd half we lost our forward structure, we started to drop players behind the ball which resulted in short kicks ,slow transition, sideways
THAT IS THE COACHES FAULT.
Anyone who actually watches the game would of seen that we didnt go one on one in the 2nd half, and the back D6 players started to zone off, which created a huge problem, game over

Combo of Both!

Players:
Too many players simply not good enough (lack of skills, poor decision making, slow thinkers, unwilling to take risks). Missing targets by hand and foot from 25m away  ::). Certain players killing the momentum of attacks by stopping after marks and playing think music in their dopey heads.

Too much left to too few especially in the midfield. Once Tucky, Foley and Jacko tired we were gone. By halfway through the 3rd qtr we could run anymore. The attacking and defensive intensity dropped off dramatically which allowed the Bombers a free reign. In the first half we contained their inside mids which starved their runners while ours got on top.

Goalkicking apart from a couple of unbelievable exceptions (Lids' one) was crap again :banghead. Early misses denied us what should have been a 5-6 goal lead and those 3 misses after half-time kept the Bombers in with a sniff which they gladly accepted. The worse miss though (and I've forgotten the player?) was the one where he ran to 50 and couldn't decide what bloody foot to kick with  :scream. How blood stupid can you get  :banghead.

Coaching staff:
Playing underdone players who can't run out games - Cotch, Connors for example. Long term it doesn't matter as hopefully they'll be right for the start of preseason but it won't win you games now.

Not talls up forward. Having a small midsized forward line means you have to dominate the midfield so the ball is coming in quickly under little pressure and there's plenty of space for the small forwards to lead and mark into. Once Essendon evened up the stoppages out scoring dried up and when they got on top at the stoppages as we tired the floodgates opened. We had to keep up our midfield intensity for the whole game but we didn't have the midfield rotation that could pull it off. It was all left to Tuck, Foley and Jacko and once they tired it was goodnight. Our other mids had ordinary games. A small forward line also means we were having a lot of shots at goal from out wide or far out (50-60m).

Kick-in strategy is awful. We still use the old rule of wait for the ump and allow the opposition to set up their zone. Apparently we are the 2nd best side at scoring coast to coast but it costs us as many goals too because we don't have the precise individual and team skills (have we ever heard of shepherding  :banghead ) under pressure to avoid getting into trouble. On top of that once again like the Brisbane game our right side was left open by Essendon yet we continually kicked-in to the congested side which resulted in many 50/50 contests that ended up heading back over our defenders heads.

they had Cogs at full forward for 10 minutes in the third quarter.
Comedy at its best.
Its a disgrace that Wallace is allowed to go on :banghead

Tambling cant hit a target and was the same all night.
But if you watched the game you really should have included Jackson as he played the game all night.
He was our best on feild and better than the 3 players memtioned here, by a mile.

Managed to catch the replay on TDT after the game finished.

Jackson did indeed do well in the first half but I was talking about players who kept playing even when the tide was completely against us.  A test of character.

And those three were it.  You might be able to find a case for Jackson and Collins to join those three but those three were the ones I noticed far and above the others.

Mentally weak team.

Is it all the off feild crap that is playing into the hands of the other teams?
Or is it just a case that our player can't take direction weather it is right or wrong.
We are the whipping boys of the AFL now and not even the best supporter could really argue with that at this time.
I heard the commentators last night and they were talking about supporters throwing back their membership.
Now I think those commentators should shut the hell up as they are dried up old coaches that couldn't get the job done either.
And to place that carp in the minds of our supporters is out of line.
