Buckley's list assessment of Richmond
« on: June 01, 2009, 06:46:04 PM »
Bucks on 3aw just now gave a quick list assessment...

No doubt there's young talent there - Collins, Connors, Cotch. Last two have been injured but he likes all 3.
Lids & Foley - speed and class in midfield
Morton can do the job forward despite the issues of the past 2 weeks.
Jack - best is pretty good; worst is pretty bad - typical of a young player
Rance is going to be good.

Backline - Morton & McGuane are good stopping types. Whether they have the good kicking skills to generate run out of the defence is another question. You can't have players making mistakes by foot out of the backline. Backline is not big enough either.

The main issue is with the top end of the list and that depends on contractual situations.
Simmo - need to either reinvent him or move him on. He can't perform in the ruck anymore.
Bowden - gone
Johnson - gone
Browny - ?
Richo - ?
King - gone

McMahon and Petts - list cloggers. Not regularly playing seniors and stopping youngsters playing.

The place needs a broom. A mercy broom.

Pretty well said, but not exactly expert comments we all know this.

Think Petts and McMahon are interesting ones..

Simmo, Johnson, Bowden and Brown all gone

Richo ad Cousins to stay

King, Schultz both gone. Jon next to go, with Polak maybe given anotehr year as well McMahon and Petts.

Promote Gourdis, Nahas and maybe Browne

And there you have 2010 list.

Plus this years draftees from draft day and pre season draft.
Need another forward KPP and to invest wisely in the draft rather than trade our picks for already used AFL players.

Those 2 are the cheech and chong of the RFC

Petticoat should play every game so we should aim to get a pick inside 40. Doubt it but you never know. Thats the least we can get for him.

Aint interesting about the porn star Mcmahon except that he is a failure on and off the field.

Not at all.

It's about time people start to be realistic.

Maybe if he stops being overrated and talked up he'll stop playing as though he's overrated in his own head and show his real talent as part of a team.

There"s other as well but will reserve judgement until the end of the year (anyone unhappy with Blingers -   ;D)  If Polak can't make it, would be best of all to move him on. Maybe worth a few games in the ones to see if he's up to it first.
Dont get me wrong, if he can make it back I would be very happy as he did have great hands and we could do with another bug bodied player.

There are some concessions that 3rd year players can have but laziness and selfishness aren't two of them.

R u a kiwi Camboon  ;D

As much as I cant stand Bucks would be interested on his opinion of Cogs.

Rest of it pretty much as most would of guessed anyway.
We cant clean out everyone, would agree keep Richo and Brown, maybe even Joel (depends what's going on with thursy?).
As TM says we need some guidance for the young one's coming through even if just for another year.
