I was about to post saying it must have been close... but it wasn't
Talk about coming home strong, he must have got close to perfect scores from all coaches in the last few rounds.

Interesting seeing Polo in the Top 10, good on the kid

Good representation from the 2004 draft in the Top 10

Would say the Club got it pretty much right. Fair effort from Cuz. He would've won it in a canter if he played close to a full season. Great to see Blingers finish 4th  :clapping

RFC site stat:

Deledio becomes the youngest winner of successive Best and Fairests at Richmond since Kevin Bartlett in 1967-68, and the youngest in the entire AFL competition to do so since Michael Voss, at Brisbane, in 1995-96.

Deledio wins his second Jack Dyer Medal
richmondfc.com.au
By Mic Cullen 11:00 PM Wed 16 September, 2009

A BARNSTORMING finish to the season has seen Brett Deledio beat Daniel Jackson and skipper Chris Newman in the race for this year’s Jack Dyer Medal as Richmond's best and fairest.

Deledio also won the award last year, and becomes the youngest back-to-back winner at the club since Kevin Bartlett in 1967-68 and the youngest in the AFL since Michael Voss at Brisbane in 1995-96.

Jackson, who received the most improved player award earlier in the night, led from round 12 to round 20, but was overtaken by Deledio in the penultimate round.

Going into the final match of the year against West Coast at Subiaco, only two votes separated the pair, but Deledio collected 14 votes to Jackson’s one to clinch the prize.

Deledio topped the disposal count for the Tigers with 533 at an average of 24.2 per game, and also had the most inside-50s. He had 20 disposals or more 19 times throughout the season, with a career-high 36 against Hawthorn at the MCG in round 21. His goals saw him finish fourth on the Tigers’ goalkicking list.

Jackson was third in the total disposals with 507 at an average of 23 per game, a huge improvement on the 11.9 he averaged in the previous five years, and allowed him to finish in the top 10 for the first time.

Rookie skipper Newman led the club in rebounding, and his third place was his fifth top-10 finish medal.

Ben Cousins finished fifth, despite missing seven games.

The voting system for the Jack Dyer Medal:

After each game, the five members of the Club’s match committee cast votes for each of the team’s 22 players. Each player receives zero to five votes from each member, so the most an individual player can poll in a match is 25 votes. Five votes are awarded for an outstanding performance, four for an excellent game, down to zero if the player is well beaten on the day.

Other award winners were:

Bill Cosgrove/Harry Jenkins Best First Year Player:  Robin Nahas

Francis Bourke Award:  Luke McGuane

Michael Roach Award for Leading Goalkicker:  Mitch Morton

Most Improved Player:  Daniel Jackson

Kevin Bartlett Medal  (5th place in the Best and Fairest):  Ben Cousins
Fred Swift Medal  (4th place in the B & F):  Richard Tambling
Maurie Fleming Medal  (3rd place in the B & F):  Chris Newman
Jack Titus Medal  (2nd place in the B & F):  Daniel Jackson
Jack Dyer Medal  (1st place in the B & F):  Brett Deledio

Place    Player    Votes
1    Brett Deledio       190
2    Daniel Jackson    175
3    Chris Newman      162
4    Richard Tambling 152
5    Ben Cousins       145
6    Nathan Foley     128
7    Shane Tuck      124
8    Jack Riewoldt    121

Very true torch. At least one positive sign from a poor year.

It probably supports the theory for us to trade a player in our top 10 B&F that won't be part of our next premiership.

mt, before the start of this season, I asked your perspective on our pre season and the quality of training compared to prior years. Your comment was something along the lines of "we tend to practise drills but if they are not perfected then move onto the next drill" or something like that. The most important thing hardwick said was that the summer wil be "rehebehind, rehebehind, rehebehind". He then mentioned no more short cuts. If he backs up that statement, I'll be happy. Look forward to your review of summer training in march 2010
lol silly swear filter.

Yep Y&B let's hope so. I hope to also hear quick ball movement, quick decisive decision making, spreading in space, 1%ers, tackling, blocking, shepherding and elite skills  :pray.

I have no idea why the word re-hear-se appears in the swear filter but anyway.

It was a good night.

I thought March was a bit over the top with the whole "if you're not 110% for the club you won't be here long". We all know it was a crap year so maybe he could've left that for the another more private forum.

Players really seemed relaxed and comfortable tonight. I see this as a positive, they know that this is going to the mother of all pre seasons which they are probably preparing themselves to launched into the coming weeks.

Wayne Campbell, very impressive on the stage tonight. Spoke better than the coach.

Please get rid of the MC, he is an annoying prat. The way he kept pronouncing "Brett Deluuuudio" made the night about him instead of the players and the club. Like some of those umpires.

Well done Richmond, a great night.
It's that simple Spud
"I discussed (it) with my three daughters, my wife and my 82-year-old mum, because it has really affected me … If those comments … were made about one of my daughters, it would make the hairs on the back of my neck stand up. I would not have liked it at all.”

It's because it has the word a-rse in it, which is a little strange as ass isn't covered in the swear filter
