The wins Coburg has had have turned out to be against the bottom sides, other than Collingwood which is about the same level.

They were soundly beaten by teams above them before the kids got a chance in the seniors.

True FF but Sandy were sitting 9th prior to this game with just 4 wins. No excuses today. Coburg were pathetic and they had 5 RFC players who began the year in the Richmond side (4 with plenty of AFL experience). Add Cogs, Petts, Schulz, Patto and Thomson who have all had at least 5 years in the AFL system. I thought at the start of the year Coburg would struggle because they'd be a very young side but Coburg can't use youth as an excuse the past 2 weeks. Since the younger Tiges have been promoted to the seniors and the older guys dropped, Coburg's form and gamestyle has nosedived. It's not the losses but the way they have lost. No spirit or desire. Senior RFC players showing no leadership and just going through the motions as if they know already their careers are over. I guess the positive is the few better players today are younger Tiges and the past 2 weeks only makes list management decisions easier at the end of the year. Time to get the broom out.

I'm with you Mighty Tige's. Richmond should get a sponsorship deal happening with Mitre 10 for the broom that's going to go through the place at the end of the year. And I for one can't wait. And for all those Tiger fans that were squealing that Joel Bowden was hard done by getting dropped last week, I hope today's performance has finished him off as a senior player once and for all.

Many of us were mearly saying he was the best player in the side last week. Which he was.

Not that he should have been recalled.

JON did not play yesterday

I read with interest that Post was named in the best - I thought his marking was very good but I'd just like to see him work harder in the chasing and pressure departments, he is very reactive in the defensive pressure stakes. He was good but the defensive side of things is a glaring weakness for mine - contested mark wise a standout though

Same with Putt. Doesn't chase hard enough until the opposition is 10 metres in the clear.

As for the other "senior" RFC guys playing....hmmmm..... MIA - deplorable IMHO. King was the best of them. The others for reasons I cannot explain were not prepared to play team orientated footy....  :banghead :banghead

I am not even going to waste my time on them  ;D

The comment the commentators made about Jack Reiwoldt and how he approaches coming back and playing for Coburg was 150% spot on. A few of his senior mates could take a lesson

But this is exactly why we have been so bad in the AFL side for so long. The sooner we put those players responsible for this out to pasture the sooner we can move on with players who actually want to play for the Richmond jumper as one unit

Round 11 Match Report
By Glenn Robertson

COBURG TIGERS v SANDRINGHAM
ABD GROUP STADIUM
SATURDAY 27th JUNE

The Burgers returned home to ABD Group Stadium to take on Sandringham on Saturday. Coburg sat just above the Zebras on the ladder and were favourites heading into the match having played solid football at home all year.

After playing the previous four seasons for Coburg, full back Jarrod Silvester made his debut for Richmond this week. It was good and bad news for the Burgers; the bad news being they had lost their rock at fullback.

It was a perfect day for footy and both sides came out and impressed early on. Coburg missed a couple of shots on goal they should have converted and it proved costly as the Zebras moved the ball down the other end quickly and kicked accurately. Tim Clarke brilliant winning the ball around the stoppages, using his hard body to his teams advantage, and was again clearly one of the Burgers better players. Coburg went into the first change a couple of goals down.

Coburg Tigers 2.3 (15)   Sandringham 5.2 (32)

The loss of Jarrod Silvester really took its toll in the second quarter with the Sandringham forwards dominating. The confidence of the Zebras lifted all over the ground while Coburg’s lack of confidence showed in their disposal efficiency that was well down. No one could stop Sandringham full forward Nick Saunter who ran riot finishing the game with fourteen shots on goal including eights majors.

New Burger coach Craig McRae roasted his players at half time, and pleaded with the group to the increase their intensity at the ball. The Boys were down by ten goals at the main break.

Coburg Tigers 3.4 (22)   Sandringham 13.6 (84)

Although the game was all but over the Burgers came out a more determined side in the third term. In a fairly scrappy quarter the Coburg defence stood up well and only conceded a solitary goal. The Burger forwards worked harder too but the Zebras pressure was immense and they boys could only muster a single goal themselves also.

One of the positives out of the match for the Burgers was the form of Jayden Post. The young man played his best game for Coburg starting across half forward and moving into the backline as the game went on. Along with Andrew Browne the two youngsters were a key to the Burgers increased pressure on the ball in the second half.

Coburg Tigers 4.6 (30)   Sandringham 14.9 (93)

Daniel Connors slotted through a couple of goals in the final term in which the boys kicked four goals five behinds for the quarter, almost doubling their three quarter time score. Adam Pattison battled hard in the ruck all day and was well supported in the middle from Nick Liddle and Tim Clarke. But the Zebras were far too strong, winning by sixty seven points. This week sees the Burger at home again against the Northern Bullants on Sunday at 2.00pm, with the reserves looking for their third win on the trot starting at 11.10am.

Coburg Tigers 2.3  3.4   4.6   8.11 (59)
Sandringham  5.2 13.6 14.9 19.12 (126)

Goal Kickers: D. Connors 3, J. King, J. Schulz, A. Raines, A. Browne, B. Fewster

Best Players: J. Post, A. Browne, T. Clarke, D. Connors, A. Pattison, N. Liddle

RESERVES

It was much better news for Coburg’s reserves with the boys pulling off a seven goal victory. After trailing for most of the first half the boys stepped it up a gear in the second, drawing level at three quarter time and putting in a massive final term to run away with a thirty nine point victory. The Burgers kicked six goals for the term, while holding the Zebras goalless.

Cleve Hughes and Jake De Sousa were the key targets up forward booting nine goals between them. For the second week in a row Graeme Polak was brilliant in the ruck, and would be a massive chance to get back into the senior side this week. Ray Jordan and Ben Clifton were also standout performers for the Burgers.

Coburg Tigers 1.2 4.4 9.7 15.12 (102)
Sandringham  3.5 5.9 8.12 8.15 (63)

Goal Kickers: C. Hughes 5, J. De Sousa 4, R. Allan 2, H. Dahl, J. Hislop, R. Jordon, A. Corry

Best Players: G. Polak, R. Jordon, B. Clifton, M. Ambrose, J. De Sousa, C. Hughes

Petts - 27 disposals (but struggled with quality ball use)
Cogs - 14 hard ball gets, 8 tackles (but needs to work on accountablility)
