Tigers vs Saints
« on: June 24, 2009, 05:35:13 AM »
Looking ahead to Sunday's game, who do all think will get the jobs on Jack's cousin, Kosi and the pest Milne down back?

And what about midfield match-ups? Who should Jacko tag?

It's going to be a challenging week for Rawlings as coach.

Our young defenders seem to do alright against Nick Riewoldt.....Thursty and Mcguane have done the job before.

Steven King is still suspended so hopefully Kosi might have to spend less time in the forward line and more time in the ruck.

I would play Jackson on Montangna.....he had 36 disposals against the blues.

Milnes record against the tigers was only average untill last year......Plan A Polo
                                                                                            Plan B Neman
                                                                                           Plan C Moore.

I wonder how many weeks suspension that would be?

high impact, intentional, behind play.

hmmm...

It could be worth it, just give the job to someone about to retire.

:thumbsup (just joking of course, but I do hate that little bastard)

We have tried everyone on Milne and he still kills us every time because we don't or can't stop the supply of football to him. King got toweled up by him the last time he played on him because he is not defensive enough and too slow thinking. King also gets caught up too much in playing the man instead of the ball, then the free kicks come. I would look at putting Rance on him to go hard at him all night and stop the supply of football down there.

Talk about bogey sides. We've lost the last 10 against the Saints and it's been 6 years since we last beat them. That record doesn't look like changing soon either  :help.

Terry on SEN said he stayed away from our game against the Eagles to let the club move on (watched it on the tele) but wanted to come and watch us today. He said as a young side we need reward for effort early on. If the Saints get off to a good start then it may be a long day for us. On the other hand, the Saints tackle count has been down over the past month so if they are off the boil, the Tigers running game could cause the Saints problems.

Rawlings coming up next.

Rawlings on SEN

Rawlings on SEN

* 100% enjoying the hot seat. Frenetic and a step up from VFL but enjoying it. The euphoria of a win helps.

* Supporters want to see what the players on our list can do. We want to win. Rance, Nahas have been given chances and it's coming together.

* Said he's an interactive person who likes contact with people. Said he likes the contact with the players.

* Spoke about Gilligan meeting Dermie for the first time lol.

* Terry asked Jade about the team selection changes last time? Jade said it was a match committee decision. It wasn't easy as you have personal relationships with these older players. The players dropped understood the club's direction and the players who came in vindicated their selection. Edwards and Hislop stood up last week. Nahas and Vickery as well. All benefited from the experience.

* Terry then asked what major change has happened over the past 3 weeks at Punt Rd? Rawlings said most of the things were already in place and said Terry you were part of that. We just worked on tidying things up and more on what we can do to get the ball back (defensive side of our game).

Edwards, Cotch, Nahas and JON on the bench.

Btw we've used 37 players this year. The Saints only 26. Makes a difference when you're winning and settled as a side.
