All must be very embarrasing for Caro having given eddie a serv for suggesting Sheeds would coach earlier in the year. Clearly she wasnt expecting Sheeds to put his hand up. So much for being a Richmond insider and a Sheeds confidante.

yep spot on.  :thumbsup

You should know by now RFC and the word process go hand in hand like MOI and Jack on a lonely winters night.

Currently a member of the Roupies, and employed by the great man Roup.

I hope the benefit of the RFC the process is not a scam as you put it TT. If the board and the selection comittee are seduced by the name Sheedy, then we have learnt nothing in the last 5 years. Not only that it is insulting to the other people who are actually prepared to put their egos to one side and put themselves through the whole thing

I have a couple of views on this whole Sheedy "thing"

Firstly, Sheeds is IMO 5 years too late. He had so many chances to take on the tigers but always chose not too. Now he wants the job because quite frankly nobody else wants him

Secondly, I think our past players group have had far too much too say and been far too distabilising for long enough - they have no right to have any input in who the next coach of this club is. I know they think they do but quite frankly they don't

And just one other thing - if I was the type of person who put conditions on my membership - I'd stop being a member if they appointed Sheedy that's how strongly I am against him being coach ... Lucky for the RFC I am not type of person  ;D

if sheeds coaches he (joel) will play on
Then Sheeds is not the coach for us.

Simple as that.

just my gut feeling wp

we all know how the club operates

but i have a gut feeling sheeds will coach for 2-3 years and have campbell and i reckon jade as his 2 young understudies but they will have alot of input too

i think the tigers will be innovative, have a different coaching structure and sheeds will be more a manager (like in soccer) so to speak and wayne and jade would be more than just assistants

IMHO Sheedy isn't what we need

i'll be honest here and this probably the best way for me to explain it but if I had to chose between Sheedy and Buckley - I'd chose Buckley in a heartbeat over Sheeds simply because we need a young coach for our young list.

I heard an interview with the Johnson that played at the Bombers and didn't get traded (Jason ? IIRC) on SEN last Thursday on the way to the airport and I was concerned when he was talking about how Sheedy ran things in his finally couple of years - gave me absolutely no confidence that Sheedy would be any good at all with our group. Players not knowing who they'd be playing on until just before the start of the game, no game plan discussed until just before running out etc

Well they've had 30 years to "fix" the club given they think they have all the answers ::). They are part of the cancer  :banghead. Once again their big mouths have put the Club in a position with the media next year where we are damned if we do and damned if we don't. We'll have the youngest list in the league next year so if we go for a younger coach and not surprisingly struggle then the media will jump up and down about why didn't we pick Sheeds. Whereas if Sheeds is given the gig then it'll be same old same old about no processes and if a new younger coach does well elsewhere then the media will jump up and down about why didn't we choose a young coach.

Does that mean Jack's predications were wrong?

To remind everyone what a credible bloke he is, these are when he predicted Sheeds would be coaching the Tiges

Round 8, 2007
Round 16, 2007
End of 2007
Round 8, 2008
Round 12, 2008
Round 8, 2009
Caretaker role
2010 ?????

 :rollin

Ok can this be put to bed with the adjudication that Sheeds will not be coach of the RFC ever.

Or is there still a lurking movement occuring?
