Summary

* Caro doesn't speak for him (Gary) and he doesn't know where she got that info from.

* Got Sheeds back to help with membership and marketing believing his days of coaching were over. We told him at the time it would be a non-football role. But now the landscape has changed and he's put his hand up as Cameron said yesterday,

* Had a chat with Sheeds on the Gold Coast and he confirmed to Gary he wants to go through the process.

* We want a rigorous process. The only Board member on the panel in the first phase is the football director Tony Free. There's no agenda or no board directors against Sheedy. There's no line through Sheeds. We haven't ruled out anyone as the process is just about to start.

* We don't run a dictatorship at the RFC and sometimes Gary is outvoted by other directors despite having strong views.

* He's had no phone calls from anyone about Sheeds applying until Cameron phoned him yesterday about this (KB, Caro comments). So it hasn't been divisive.

* Disagreed with Denham about our list being as bad as Denham has made out (worst in the AFL). Had this discussion with Denham about the list the other day - Deledio, Cotchin, Tambling, Foley, etc...

* Denham said RFC would eat a new coach as we'll struggle over the next 2 years. Gary replied that Denham had us making the 8 and even some commentators had us top 4. Our list isn't as bad as is being made out. As for eating a new coach things change in footy.

* We have a good Board, admin and new facilities at Punt Road and Craigieburn coming plus a young list. It's an exciting place to come to.

* There's a strong relationship between the Board/admin and past players. We'll be at the past players association 50th celebration, Tony Free - an ex-player - is on the Board, and this admin got KB back to the club.

* KB asked about Malthouse? Cameron is dealing with the process so Gary is leaving it to him so Gary said he can't comment on who is applying as he doesn't know.

* Reiterated Sheeds will go through the process and if the process selects him as the best candidate then he'll be coach.

* KB's producer has called Caro yesterday to come on the show but they haven't heard back yet.

i love the fact that its all out in the open

The RFC should not from this day forward never be dictated again by certain individuals

Time for a change and i admire the way they are handling this.

1/  caro should now stfu
2/ kb should keep his campaign going
3/ rfc has been a sham for along time, we need a coach who can get this club back where it belongs. an untried coach at this stage would be disaster and kill us.
4/ this leaves 4 options
- malthouse
-sheedy
-matthews
-pagan
HAS TO BE SHEEDY OR MALTHOUSE  and seems malthouse isnt leaving the pies so SHEEDY IT IS

Well said Daniel  :clapping

In regards to March from just reading the above it sounds like he said all the proper things, of course I didn't hear it but it sounded forceful and purposeful.

spud like Wallet should never have been hired in the place.

Spud was hired on the back of what 4-5 years with the pies of which they never made the finals once.

He was a rubbish assistant just like Royal and McCrae are now at our club.

We have too many times made coaching decisions based on market sentiment or who others dictate is the right person for the job because it suits them.

well all those pricks can get stuffed. If it ends up being Sheeds so be it but stuff mate we have to search through the whole 15 of em to find the best.

After we do that im sure we will find its one of Bucks or Hardwick for the gig.

Malthouse the only outside if the Pies pee him off. If that happens we should swoop on him because i have always said he is the best coach in the AFL

Just like an untried coach like Clarkson was a disaster for the Hawks
Was Wallace an untried coach when we recruited him?

Gary March  :clapping :clapping

Could be the making of him as a president.

Although the comment

* KB asked about Malthouse? Cameron is dealing with the process so Gary is leaving it to him so Gary said he can't comment on who is applying as he doesn't know.

:lol Might just be best to say you would rather not discuss who and who hasn't applied than to plead ignorance.

What is clear from this is that Caro's comments are stirring up trouble. She's behaving rather strangely.

It's interesting Jake - I just took Caro's article yesterday as being an opinion piece on the topic of Sheeds wanting to coach. I didn't read and think "she's out to stir up trouble". I just thought she's giving her opinion on it and using comments that have been in the public domain for some time now.

I will admit that I do agree with what she wrote yesterday especially the bit about certain past players having stirred up trouble in the past. Sadly for the RFC that is true
