Spud would be too nice and too honest to be a pollie although his overuse of cliches would fit right into the political arena. I'd also reckon his family wouldn't want to jump back into the limelight and the public scrutiny that comes with it after his time at Punt Road.

Danny Frawley - Liberal candidate for Bungeree - "Stepping up to the plate and sticking fat!"  ;D

Reporter: "So Spud what do you think of the state of the Victorian economy?"
Frawley: "Yeah nah, we're not far away but we've still got a long way to go."

I have the aftergame interview of Spud saying "we're not far away but we've still got a long way to go" stored and immortalised somewhere on my home computer. From memory it was the Freo game in Perth in 2003. I will never forget him saying that  ;D.
