Did anyone else here hear 3aw's rumour file this morning whereby someone claimed Ian Wilson and some past greats were forming some group to try and topple the current Board?

Surely this is just made up.

wouldnt have a hope in HELL, i blame the boards mismanagement toward the end of his reign for the 29 years of darkness that ensued

They replayed the rumour file audio on 3aw tonight saying Ian Wilson and past greats are going to hold a pow-wow meeting this week about the future of the RFC.

* Caro said she's embarrassed by it and hopes it's wrong. The last thing we need is her father and others causing turmoil. They've had their time in the past and Dad's time as Prez was successful but he time was up when he finished.

* She has great sympathy for March as he inherited a mess from Casey/Miller. He also handled the difficult Wallace dismissal very well. The last thing Gary needs is Dad, KB, Sheedy and Perry causing him problems.

* Caro said making on the spot decisions is what made Richmond great back in a day but it was also what got Richmond into trouble as they did not move with the times.

1985 was Wilson's last year in charge wasn't it? The same year we lost $1.5m out of a revenue of $2.5-3.0m  . Equivalent to losing $15m in a single year today  . Not to mention the trade wars with Collingwood that sent us broke and star players and former captains walking out. Oh and who let our 4-time premiership coach walk out on the Club too. Yep let's go back to that great admin  .

It's only a rumour on talkback radio for crying out loud.  Give the 'named' people some credit for having half a brain.  Think about the likelihood of that rumour being a fact before casting too many aspersions or throwing too much mud.

So not sure on why exactly he's standing but he says he is.

Not all of those named have been quiet little wallflowers of late either smokey. It wouldn't be the first time they've embarrassed the Club with their actions.

The rumour has to be garbage as any challenge would be embarrassing not only for the club but especially for those who are being named as challengers.

Fair enough Froars. I just hope anyone who challenges realises they are running for a position on the Board and dealing with mostly off-field issues. They're not running to become our next coach and have a hands on role inside the footy department. A director shouldn't be into micromanagement. You employ people instead to implement the Board's directions for the organisation.
