THE Footy Show's Craig Hutchison has told how he was bashed by a fan of the show at a Melbourne pub.

Hutchison was punched in the face by the man during a drinking session at The Bush Inn in Toorak.

The Richmond supporter is believed to have lashed out over Hutchison's treatment of Tigers star Matthew Richardson on the show.

Hutchison confirmed the assault and said he had decided not to press charges.

"He was a bit unhappy," Hutchison said.

"He gave me a bit of a clip."

Was on a covert factfinding mission in case he overheard something about the Hawk or Dees game plan considering we have them both in the next few weeks.
Plus he was refused bar service which angered him and Hutchy's face was there and he needed an alibi so as not to lose his cover.  Turned out being quite a win win situation.
