He'd have to come home like Kingston Town in '82.

its ok that he hits up targets but we need players who can kick goals from 50+ metres on the run

He kicked a goal being front and square of the pack...i dont think he needs to kick it from 50+ metres on the run...Not many players can do that anyway...I think his disposal and hitting targets and setting up the other forwards would be enough...My only concerns are his body holdining up and defensive pressure from the forward line...

Another year for mine...

Subject to the next 5 weeks...he should get a contract for next year...

Richo Cuz and Brown to go on...Sugar Bowden and Snake to retire for me.

When Brown gets the pill he is still classy...like the kick on his right foot yesterday...very smart footballer...

Like Joel Bowden used to circa 1999-2000?

Another year for mine...

At my age l can still kick 50m on the run both sides,  ;D so current AFL players have no excuse to not be able to kick it on thier natrual side 50m at full pace.
If a player cant kick goals from 50m on the run they should not be playing senior football AT ANY LEVEL
When a player like Nathan Brown who l know can kick 50m on both sides, my concern is that he is still not 100% fit or his confidence is shot because he is worried about agravating the injuries his carried. If that is the case he should be playing for Coburg till his 100% fit & get his confidence in his body right mentaly. You cannot carry mentaly weak players.
Goes back to what l say in other threads that Richmond has a habit playing unfit players who cannot carry out thier job for 4 quarters & this affects the overall performance of the team because other players are not getting the required rest carrying injured players & become extremely fatigued.
Is another way clubs can also hide tanking by playing unfit players & using it as a excuse for having no or limited interchange to rest players.
Its amazing how players go down with what look like serious injuries when the game is in the balance only to see them ok at the final siren or when walking out to thier cars after a game with no limp & in a hurry, makes you wonder.  ;D
In any case what l see of Nathan Brown l would offer him a 1 year contract if his final games are more than just average, his is a great player to have around the younger group to teach them.
Its also a great credit to him for getting back playing AFL after a shocking injury  :clapping which many players with that type of injury are lucky to even play football again.

Tigermonk...there are many players that can't kick 50m out and are still great afl players....Saint Harvey is one example...

But I take your point...Brown used to be able to do it...so for him not to do it now means either not fit or not willing to risk injurying his groin or lack of confidence...

For me, subject to the next 5 weeks...1 more year on his contract....His presence in the fwd line means he also takes away a good defender...meaning it should open up more oportunities for Morton and Nahas...

I just don't think he offers anything to the team at the moment other than taking the place of a young forward. He was once the best forward in the AFL but now he is a mere shadow of his former self. It was sad to see him always be the second tackler and get a goal from a give rather than through his own efforts. He is not performing as well as any of our other forwards and at best would only have another year left.

I just don't see the value to the club in keeping him. Browny is not a leader so he doesn't teach the young fellows. He struggles with the defensive side of his game. He does not screen, block, shepherd or work for his team mates (albeit last game he tried). He has lost his lead speed amd lateral movement which allowed him to find space on his opponents in the past and he has lost his kicking peneration.

I just can't see any reason to keep him other than to say thankyou for the 2005 season.  :'(

I think it's time to concentrate fully on his fashion label

Robert Harvey had no problem kicking 50 on both feet. Harvey was a player who hit people up perfect thats why he played so many years his fitness, cunningness, & read the game 100%
Was the best footballer in the past 20 years by far & nicest bloke in the world to meet

Not so sure about that Con.  Nowadays I think he is more of a liability in that he is targeted by a 'run off' defender that can exploit his defensive deficiencies.  Personally I think his time has come - was a great footballer but isn't up to senior AFL standard any more.

I beleive the form of Robin Nahas will result in the death of Nathan Browns AFL career.
