Scott and Hardwick are also on Richmond's list, with both scheduled to be interviewed by the Tigers this week. As was Buckley ....

Im on the Hardwick bandwagon. Everywhere hes gone the club has won Premierships. Thats the type of coach we need. Someone who can exhibit Success not just someone who can speak good in the media.

FWIW Robbo said in his live blog today that word is Hardwick is a strong contender. He thinks it'll be either Jade and Hardwick.

I like Hinkley for the same reason.
Dont know a lot about him but has played and coached premierships in his own right and assistant at Geelongs last.

Better be Hardwick. Rawlings is a false dawn.

I agree Hinkley also seems to be a very good operator with a history of success.

Yep Hardwick for me and Hinkley as a second, I am sick of taking coaches on because they were good caretakers or because they have been "endorsed" by the players!!

what has haedwick actually done as a coach, sure he may be a good assistant but ffs ppl are rating him because he was a hard player

imo, jade is streets ahead of hardwick because its not just about how one played buyt how one and send a message and be heard.

jade has the players ears and it seens their hearts too

The guy has been involved in 3 premierships at 3 clubs, assistant coach at the current premiers and was in the final 2 for the Essendon job and only missed out because he was less optimistic on the state of the current playing list.

whoopdi fricken do
if that the case there are better credentialed ex brisbane players we can ask to coach us then, would rather one of teh scott bros or even lambert!
this bs that u need to experience success to make it as a coach is bs
ross lyon never played in a successful team nor did paul roos but they won a premiership with the swans , this had nothing to do with their playing success
some narrow minded ppl out there

lets not forget that essendon rejected hardwick for more than 1 reason

they took knights because knights told them they were close to making finals and the list was ok. on the issue of success, there is one major point your missing TT and its this. When you go to 3 clubs - 3 seperate and different clubs, and the 3 clubs win flags that is different to winning 3 flags at 1 club. Winning 3 flags at 3 different flags is massively more impressive than what the brisbane assistants achieved at Brissy.

Jeez Hardwick is one of those hard arse back pocket plumbers that have done well in coaching over the last 40 years - Hafey, Sheeds, Malthouse & Jeans to name the RFC attached.  There's a few premierships in that lot.

Is RFC really looking for the next Len Smith as an innovator or is the best fit a head coach that can spout the public stuff & actually get the core job done of directing a team of specialist coaches towards development of a list of young men into a top 4 side with a genuine chance.

The supportive admin & recruiting structures appear to be in the midst of being resourced effectively, however whether the correct recruiting pegs are in place is a tangible that only time will only tell, however a coach that can construct & effectively communicate modern tactical attributes is a must.
