Richmond star Matthew Richardson opens up on his playing future, the toughest season of his AFL career and rock music.

Award-winning journalist Mike Sheahan spends an hour getting inside the mind of the Tigers great in the latest installment of Open Mike.

Richardson, 34, doesn't shy away from the tough questions, including how he almost left the Tigers and the pain of missing September action.

As i remember it wasn't he out of contract and the Pies were sniffing and i think actually put dollars on the table.

Stuff the Pies lol. They wanted him from the start but Richo chose to go father-son to us because he wanted to play with Richmond.

I imagine that's referring to the move many years ago by Carlton who tried to get him

I have looked on Foxtels TV guide & the golf is on Fox 1 @ that time >

Perhaps they've done a late change because of Richo going off injured early on Saturday  

You know Mike's interview ending with Richo saying like "it was great be back out there". Well that would look a bit stupid I suppose
