Well I did the foolish thing in raising my hopes by trying out a multitude of options on the good ole ALF ladder predictor and found out to my complete surprise that we can still make the 8  :o :o :o thanks to that draw against North. If we win all of our remaining games and the majority of other games go the way they should except for Port who lose a couple they are supposed to win, we will be in 8th spot!!!

Try it out and you will see, that 8th spot is where we could be!  :rollin

OH YES

Thanks Tiga for that I am getting excited already.

If we do make the eight can we bring back TW as it is primarily his list and we did say if we made finals he could continue coaching.  Plus his boy Jordy won us a game off his own boot.

Oh btw, if anyone else can do a combo to get us in the 8 besides the Port one, share it with us all. Maybe a Carlton collapse?

I was going to put this on here yesterday but was fearful of the mockery.....treat it like a fun puzzle.
It is possible for richmond to make the 8 with 9 1/2 wins......and I am going to win lotto this week. :cheers

The pro-tankers will be disppointed, try as I might I couldn't get us finishing last but you can make it so no-one gets a priority pick  :rollin

Let's hear it for Ninth again  :help

Some very wishful thinking involved  :wallywink. Port can make it even mathematically impossible after this weekend.

Maximum points we can reach is 38.

Current ladder

8. Port      36
--------------
Essendon  32
Hawthorn  32
Sydney      28
Richmond  22

R19
Haw  vs St K
Ess  vs Bris
Rich vs Syd
Freo vs Port

R20
Haw  vs Adel
Rich vs Coll
Syd  vs Geel
Port vs Carl
Ess  vs St K

R21
Bris vs Port
Rich vs Haw
Coll vs Syd
Freo vs Ess

R22
WCE  vs Rich
Haw  vs Ess
Syd  vs Bris
Port vs North

Wishful thinking ladder lol

8. Richmond 38
------------------
Port            36
Hawthorn     36
Essendon     32
Sydney         28

The media are already getting into "ninth" jokes.

Tiges on the up
Geoff McClure - This Sporting Life
August 6, 2009

WHEN you’re a Richmond supporter you grasp anything that might resemble, even slightly, the yellow and black having had a reasonably successful season. Like this: The Tigers are only 2.5 games behind a fading Essendon and Hawthorn, so mathematically remain well and truly in the hunt for ninth. That draw against North might come back to haunt them.

So I guess it comes down to two camps this weekend. Those who will be cheering for us and Freo and those who will be cheering for the Swans and anyone else below us. Go the Tiges and Freo for mine.

Which camp are you in??

i wonder how many more permutations and combinations end up with us finishing 9th?
i'm thinking we stay in the hunt until a north-port draw in the last round.

 :nope :weights

This is the same type of hope against hope that has enabled us to remain a mediocre club for two and a half decades! If we beat Sydney plus 2 of our remaining 3 games I will  :chuck

We really are a self destructive club now aren't we!  :help :'(

Understand all the ifs and buts...but it is amazing to think that if we had beaten Melbourne, Sydney and North the way we should have, we'd still be a live chance to snatch 8th spot.  :help
