I'd kill to see our young group beat a top 4 side on the road. Stuff the picks.

Try to convince me that was a meaningless win for West Coast.

 :thumbsup :thumbsup

well done that is exactly right.

They are the type of wins that you want for your footy club. stuff the picks indeed but sadly the wins that we only seem to win are against the lower end of the comp and unless that changes we will find ourself near the bottom for the next 5 years.

At least there a few on here who have brains :clapping
RFC should try and pick a player in the draft at say pick 38 or whatever who they can develop into a great footballer, even better , try and hide someone in the draft.  eg someone from the back sticks of Mildura etc etc
I have heard so much crap on tanking on here, the more I read, the more I think that most of the nuffers  on here have little idea. ::)

Connerly on the Freo rookie list is home sick & would be a good pickup. at 202cm & loves to kick goals.  Playing in the WAFL

Exactly right there Monk.
Someone at Punt Road needs to think outside the square for once, although thinking might be a new experience for some ;)

Good for us as they jump above us on the ladder. We now have pick 5. If North flog the Dees tomorrow we could end up with pick 4 = one of Trengove or Butcher  :thumbsup. Melbourne taking Scully and either Trengove/Butcher and Freo taking a West Aussie (Morabito or Lucas).

So ! Tomorrow you are barracking for ?  :whistle
Richmond in 2010 and beyond  ;). To be honest I'm hardly enthusiastic about the results of remaining games which will be forgotten about in 4 weeks time and especially in November or April next year. I go to watch the cubs who will be part of our future and I want to add more quality cubs to that young group to eventually make us a top side that will beat all sides on a consistent basis and win far more games than they lose. Last week woeful effort only confirmed that view.

Um they won - Sort of blows a few people's opinions out of the water  :rollin

You cant force players to tank. You can try and orchestrate but you cant tell players to lose. WCE lost there priority last week, today they did us a massive favor by moving up the ladder. Hopefully we continue to get a better draft position as the seasons reaches its end.

exactly right. the important game is tomoorow against swans.  if we lose that we're in great shape for pick 4 at least.  WCE have shown that they're not tanking.  so i dun see them losing at home to us.

Paul Roos just said he blames not getting those class players you get with picks 1,2,3 for the Swans missing the finals. Eventually that catches up with you and other sides pass you. Nah that can't be right  :whistle.

sorry to tell you but Melbourne seem to be after Butcher thier scouts are hovering all over him

Butcher is no good anyway.
197cm KPP. Why do you say he's no good?

Scully (Melb)
Butcher (Melb)
Morabitto (Freo) Will pick a WA boy
Lucas (West Coast) Will keep a WA boy.

So its down to North and us who gets Trengrove. If North do then we have the field. Gysberts will be around, as well as Panos.

Trengove is genuine midfielder already playing against men with the Sturt senior side (top 3 SANFL) and in his four games since coming back from the U18 Champs has twice finished in their bests. I wouldn't say no.

I can't see Gysberts going in the top 10. His kicking efficiency is ordinary. Is he injured? as he's hardly played TAC Cup this year. Panos may go late in the top 10 or at first round but he isn't the type of player we are lacking.

Adding more class to our midfield is essential. Getting a Trengove, Martin would be good, Lucas I dont mind as well. For some tanking is wanking, for a club like Carlton, tanking is Kreuzer, Gibbs, Murphy, et al. And they will play finals whilst we languish because we dont have enough class acts in the side.

We dont need midfielders. We need a CHB, CHF, FF.

The KP players in the upcoming draft seem average. Id rather see us get a star midfielder than an average CHB or something.

Yep, no point picking an average tall over a quality midfielder with our first pick.

I would say we need all of the above. More classy ballwinners as well as KPPs especially a big key forward to straighten us up.

people say they dont want a average tall & want a midfielder  :rollin
What about all the average midfielders we recruited  ;D

The constant suffling of forwards in & out of the team instead of letting a player say like (example) Shulzs or Hughes play a full season at FF to develope at the top level instead of constantly changing players & mess with thier minds.  You got to help them build confidence  & let them establish themselves into the team, not banish them to the bench then back to Coburg where they wont develope & lose interest.

We need KPP's at CHB, CHF who present from the CHF through the centre & wings so the wings can pushback or push forward to bang it onto a tall FF who pushes forward to the 50m arc.
Until we stop buying these peeweak players who have no strength in contests & are lazy.

Another thing that irates me is our players running past to receive handballs are so close to the disposer of the ball & run into trouble. instead of receiving a longer handball & running harder to receive it keeping pace of the game bursting forward. l have seen none of this type of football from Richmond players

Nothing has changed in coaching. The list was turned over & l reckon the mistakes from the Wallace/Rawlings coaching is far more terrible than Spuds time coaching.

We replaced Frawley with a so called tactical coach who was nothing more than a tactical mouth glorifying his own world & Tuesdays with Terry is the most ridculous thing l ever seen in football.

l reckon Frawley given them 5 years of Wallace/Rawlings would have done more with Deledio, Tambling, &  others.

Also Frawleys defencesive experience would have been great for McGuane & Thursfield whos games are pathetic when 2 old men destroyed yesterday.
The defence has folded under Wallace/Rawlings.

Seeing Richmond players trying to play zone football is like watching under 14's, except the U14's understand it better & execute it better. makes you wonder  :help :help :help

Cant blame that on the older players as they are not out there & have not been most of the year.

We should be in front of Sydney in terms of recruiting & playing finals as other teams who were bottom with us some years back Essendon, Carlton, Western Bulldogs, Hawthorn, Adelaide, North Melbourne, have all moved forward into the top 8 since 2002 & we have collected a few spoons & are still the most disgraceful skilled team going round.

What makes me even more irate is our players still have under developed bodies & cant hold the basic tackles, They are weak  :-[
Other clubs clearly know this & will take us on without having a second thought cause they know they will break through & you have players like hanging on like Jockeys is embarrassing.

A new coach must come to the club ( Leigh Matthews ) l would clearly hunt him down if l was the club with his own picked assistant coaches, fitness staff & we need better medical staff cause until that happens, all of us will be skulled stuffed for years to come  ;D  :thumbsup
