Richmond coaching race down to 2 - Hardwick and Hinkley [confirmed]

Freezer was on TAC Cup stars with son Josh just before. Freezer said there'll be an announcement midweek and confirmed it's down to Hardwick and Hinkley. MMM saying they are having their final interviews today.

whats the latest on freezer jun, I notice he's continuing to be prominent amongst the best on a regular basis ???

Well BT and Healy during half-time of the Freo-Essendon game say it's Hardwick. Only a guess but BT did guess right that Scott would be coaching North.

Good luck to Hardwick if he is the one. He's going to need it. I just hope we don't have the same olds calling for his head midway through next year because he's not an instant miracle maker.

If it is Hardwick I wonder if he'll copy Clarkson and try and bring a number of staff over with him from Hawthorn. He'll also have to bring 3 new assistants at least to the Club with Royal, King and most likely Rawlings leaving.

Its the correct decision but if he does what every other coach has done for the last 20 years then hes coaching career will be over before it starts. Hardwicks only chance for success at Richmond is to trade as heavily as he can, delist as many as he can, bring in new fitness and conditioning staff as well as some assistant coaches, he needs to impact right from the start, he needs to go with a new game plan which revolves around hard, direct footy where 1%ers, blocks, sheppards and tackles are the core things required.

If he doesnt do these things- ALL of them-  he will FAIL. And I will be one of the people looking for him to get the boot. Richmond supporters just want to see the team do well. We are sick and tired of listening to crap and all the rest- If Hardwick does not deliver then he can end up on the scrapheap as well. The club and its success must always come first.

Well I think the fac tthat BT was on the Sunday footy show with Brayshaw the Sunday B4 North's announcement may have had something to do with it

After watching the fragility of our list this season and the distinct lack in many areas that's the minimum any new coach will need to do to at least ensure we are competitive in 2 -3 years time.

If a favourite player is in the cull so be it. The club is bigger than any individual. If the new coach says Richo is gawn I too will be disappointed as will many considering his last game would have been in Sydney but so be it. The long term future of the club is at stake.

I am so over this process just appoint the new coach and let him get to work on this list. He'll have my full support and can only hope that him and all the factions at the club can all move in the right direction to give him the support to put his plans in place.

Lets just wait and see what the new coach will do before we judge him. If anything if the club had been in alot more than 2 finals series in 27 years you'd still find there would be alot of experts opinions suggesting which way the club should go but after 2 finals series in that time you'd think that something is very rotten at the club and its time to get rid of it.

If that makes me an expert then I would love to go to the club and coach them. Would you or any others sponsor me? If anything I will be the most controversial choice at any AFL club. Would that make you or any others happy? It would be the fullfilling of a dream of mine to be involved in the inner sanctum of RFC. At least noone on here could criticise me that I don't love the club regardless of results.

Seriously it seems we are already setting up the senior coach to fail. IMHO the coaches have had very little to do with our lack of success. It is a deeper issue than purely the coaching staff. it is about culture, and us fans are a part of that.
