Nathan Ablett
« on: October 26, 2004, 09:32:17 AM »
I will admit I was surprised when the Cats announced that Nathan Ablett had agreed to finally join them.

All the talk during the seaosn was that he didn't want to play AFL but somehow they've managed to convince him.

Reading Bomber Thompson's comments today about them having to "tread very carefully with him" and protect him from the limelight or he may walk away raises alot of questions of how they manage it without disprupting team harmony etc. How much special treatment do you give him etc...

Full credit to the Cats for persisting.

But it will be interesting to see what happens.

Someone here who shall remain nameless  ;D mentioned to me in early September that he heard a rumour that Richmond was going to pull a surprise pick in the National Draft and that a few months before that the word around was that Miller was meeting Nathan Ablett. At the time Nathan Ablett wasn't apparently registered so it thought the rumour was just that a rumour.
