New Coach- New Game Plan and Better Defensive efforts needed.

Our game plan sux - when you concede 20 goals a game plus often- you cant go anywhere. We need a coach who can bring a defensive emphasis to our game. Hard tough, controlled aggression, a game plan which sees players kicking forward and running forward- but also going back when required applying Sheppards when required, tackles when needed, blocks when its required and 1 percenters at all times. History has shown that the clubs with the best defence go to the big dance most often and take home the prize. It seems to me that Damien Hardwick would understand this best.

handballs along the ground, handballs at team mates from point blank range, kicks that go over team mates heads, and tackles that just dont stick, jogging instead of running your guts out...These are basic football stuff that need to be looked at

Yep -  Can blame everyone down to the bootstudder, but when you look sideways or for eg wait for Cuz to lead 30 metres in the defensive arc before you deleiver under pressure, and then cough it up anyway there is a definite flaw in the game plan and discipline in the side ... Forever in hope

NB: HTF did the dawks ever win a flag - Because Geelong are friggen chockers! That's why.

Just pray to god Skunks dont pull one out.

they will come very close mate and thats scary for all.

I had this feeling about a month ago that they just might be the Dawks of 2008.

can only see Saints beating them and they are chockers. Pies have Geelongs measure so no problem there.

Better Defensive efforts yep that's the first point.

How about some simple skill being accomplished. Glad Simmonds is retiring I reckon the Hawks got 4 goals from skill errors from Simmonds kicking the ball too high or missing the target with a handball.

Decision making also. Edwards marking on 50 playing on then stopping when he is tackled. Those are elementsry errors.

Unity selflessness and team orientation would be some other things to work on.

If we can improve on those then we may be considered a team of some sort. Until then we stink worse than an infants diarrrhoea.

We need more than just Simmo retiring. We have alot that need to go because they dont go about their footy in the right way- some seem to have no inkling of understanding the defensive side of the game, others would miss the side of a barn from 20 metres when kicking, decision making from many is rubbish and some of the rest lack awareness = recipe for finishing bottom 4.

A new coach with all new coaching staff.  A total cleanout no-one stays
Cut the alignment with Coburg as its pulling the club down.
Create new Richmond VFL team & appoint a coach who has no input with Richmond AFL side on gameday.
Until this is done Richmond football club will not fix any problems with skill level

Even though I dont rate him.
Would think a guy like Cleve Hughes career has been ruined at Coburg .
Any trade value he might have had has gone

Hughes will be better under new coaches
it no use cutting the talent until the new coach has a go with them except McMahon.

McMahon only got to us because of his ties with Wallace. But we continue to play him so this is down to Rawlings. And I think it is an error to.
