NO KNEE ISSUES FOR STAR TIGERChris Cavanagh

2 May 2017RICHMOND has quashed suggestions Dion Prestia is still being hampered by knee issues that have plagued him in recent years and backed the high-profile recruit to build on his start to the season.
Prestia made an impressive debut in the yellow and black in Round 1 with 28 disposals and a goal against Carlton but has been noticeably quiet in recent weeks.
The former Gold Coast midfielder averaged 106 SuperCoach points a game in 2014, 101 in 2015 and 93 last year but has averaged just 80 points in his first six games for his new club.
His kicking efficiency is a career-low 44 per cent.
While not wanting to make public comment on Prestia’s form, Richmond yesterday flatly denied its prized recruit was being troubled by his knee or playing sore and said he had been fully training on an individual program.
Prestia played just eight games in 2015 before suffering a torn lateral meniscus in his left knee and managed only 16 games last year before having further knee surgery last July.
The Tigers signed the 24-year-old on a five-year deal last October, reported to be worth more than $3.5 million, and carefully managed him over a limited pre-season as he continued his recovery from surgery.
