Similarities between Bolton and Roach's speckies:

• Both were taken at the city end of the MCG.

• Both happened in the first quarter of the respective matches.

• Both were chest marks.

• Both were converted into goals.

• Both were taken in early May – Roach on May 5, 1979 and Bolton on May 7, 2021.

• And, unfortunately, Richmond lost both games by substantial margins – 79 points in 1979, 63 points last Friday night.

Benny Gale on Bolton's contract negotiations:

The sublimely talented Bolton remains unsigned beyond 2021 but Gale is confident the West Australian native will put pen to a new Richmond deal in time.

“That’s an ongoing conversation,” he said.

“This is the other disappointment. In the cold light of day we’re a footy club and right now we’re in a position where we don’t have too many midfielders available at the moment.

“Because of this situation they’ve found themselves in, which we understand which is regrettable, we’ll be without Shai for the next three weeks.

“So we’re in discussions with Shai and with (manager) Ralph (Carr). They’re very constructive and they’ll land at the right spot. This will have no bearing on those discussions.

“I’m confident he won’t be going anywhere. He loves it here, he thrives here, he really belongs here and formalities will take place and it will run its course.

“You don’t want to put a date on these things but we’re very confident he’ll be a Richmond player.”

Browne said Bolton is worth $800k. "Industry sources" say the latest incident won't affect his value. No mention of other clubs.

Browne also said he spoke to manager Ralph Carr tonight who reiterated that a decision won't be made until the end of the season.

But waits there's more from Tom Browne on MMM today:

* Bolton very happy at Richmond. Balances of probabilities he re-signs.

* Report in HeraldSun that WA clubs are aware Bolton wants to stay at Richmond.

* Spoke to Carr last night and again this morning. Contract discussions won't start until the end of the season.

* If Freo throw out there something crazy like a million dollars then things could change.

In the first pick number 29 was roaming the pack in prime position for a crumb

In the second pick 29 was the player taking the screamer  :rollin

Bolton didn't win Mark of the Week. Pies supporters hijacked the fan vote so Mihocek got it :facepalm.

Watch your head for Brody Mihocek Raising hands

The high-flying Pie has taken home the round eight nomination for the @FOURNTWENTY Mark of the Year!

Don't stress Tiger fans, the MOTY committee will add 5 additional marks from outside the weekly winners to go into the final draw before the overall 2021 Four'N Twenty Mark of the Year is selected.
