Just watching the Hawks willing themselves over the line for a second successive week and it got me thinking that perhaps our style of play - like the Hawks struggles moreso early in the year where hard running, dry grounds and aerobically fit bodies can really pressure possession based game styles that both the Hawks and the Tigers (who are inferior at it) play.
Perhaps once wet weather kicks in and there are naturally more contests and ball ups we see our game style become more effective.
We just looked so slow, hurried and under pressure last night - would we see this in July at the 'G?
The Hawks have owned this game plan and have the talent, skill and leadership to nail it at all times of the year but perhaps are a touch susecptable early in the season.
A fast footy team like the Bulldogs are able to shoot out of the blocks but perhaps come back to the pack later in the season.
