Nason knee injury
« on: February 13, 2010, 08:41:28 PM »
Doesn't look good. Grabbed it straight away and stayed down. Now going off on a motorised stretcher. It would be great news if it isn't but it looks like an ACL  :(.

Poor guy.

never mind the score, the last thing we need in the NAB Cup is a serious injury, and this looks to be just that. hope Nason is ok, but it doesn't look good at all.
Push up!

According to Ch 10 Richmond docs saying they don't believe Nason has done his ACL. They have to wait for the scans though. Would be great news if that was so  :pray. Let's hope our medical staff are back on the money this year after last year's stuff ups.

Boundary rider said that the medicos thought it may not be the ACL.  :pray
They can confirm he did hyperextend the knee.
Lets hope when the knee cools down it does show no damage to the ACL.

Really feel for the kid.

Nason apparently walked past the Ch 10 boundary rider and gave him a smile saying he's just hyperextended it. Fingers crossed  :pray

Richmond remains optimistic that teenage small forward Ben Nason will not miss his first season due to a knee injury.

The Tigers feared that Nason had ruptured his right anterior cruciate ligament against Hawthorn, but general manager of football operations Craig Cameron said yesterday Nason may have escaped a reconstruction.

"We don't think it's an ACL, but he'll have scans tomorrow so we'll wait on the findings," Cameron said. "He may have just hyper-extended the knee and he could have some bone bruising."

Tiger cub Ben Nason cleared of serious injury

Bruce Matthews From: Herald Sun February 15, 2010 1:18PM

RICHMOND at least had good news today with young midfielder Ben Nason cleared of serious injury from Saturday night’s NAB Cup humiliating defeat.
Scans showed Nason escaped with bone bruising to the right knee after he was carried off on a stretcher early in the match against Hawthorn in Launceston.

It was feared the 20-year-old from SA club Central District had ruptured the anterior cruciate ligament when the leg buckled as he sprinted on the wing in the first half.

Whille bruising to the bone can sideline a player for up to a month, the Tigers are relieved young draft pick’s season is not over.

Adam Thomson, recruited from Port Adelaide, will be rested this week with mild concussion after being accidentally KO’d during the game.
