RICHMOND

C: Dustin Martin, Brett Deledio, Matt White

Foll: Troy Simmonds, Trent Cotchin, Daniel Jackson

Martin shone in the NAB Cup loss to Hawthorn, racking up the most possessions for the Tigers. He needs to work on his defensive side, but it was a great start. Deledio won his second Jack Dyer Medal last year, and White gives plenty of speed. Simmonds was given a one-year extension over summer to lead the ruck again, Cotchin has finally managed a pre-season and Jackson continues to improve. Nathan Foley is unlikely to play round one as he recovers from ankle surgery, while Andy Collins and Angus Graham should find bench spots.

Would hope to see a fitter Cousins as part of our midfield rotations this season.

And although he's a tryer, I'd hope to not see much of Matt White in the seniors this season.

Agreed.

I would hope Foley comes in and takes his place. We also need a in and under type in that mix be it Thomson or Tuck just to get on the bottom of the packs, take the hits, make the shepherds and handball it out to out better uses of the ball. I hope Martin becomes this but it is unrealistic to expect martin or even Lids to take the body blows at this stage. Eventually I see these two and Foley working in tandem to win the ball and allow Cotch, Collins and Bling to spear it to our forwards.

First round though a near enough judgment.

Mmmm, not sure why White would be an automatic selection over Cousins, they will probably name him on the forward stuff.
DIMMA - You will be held ACCOUNTABLE...

“We are really excited about what we have brought in. We have got great depth of players that can take us where we need to go. We are just putting some cream on the top at the moment,” he said.

If anywhere, I'd prefer to see Matty White as a small forward pocket or flanker before having him in the middle. He has kicked some clever goals when buzzing around in the forward line.
In the midfield he always seems out of place.

agree another typical glass half full type to add to the list of many glass half fulls still there.
it seems supporters just love their glass half fulls and refuse to let go.
