The only conclusions I can get from that post is;
You don't have a grasp of what Hardwick is trying to achieve, which makes you think he is wrong or stupid.
You would rather see something short term than put up with short term pain for long term gain.
Just one question;
Who do you bring in to replace those you want to drop and on what criteria do you you judge they deserve to replace the 6 aforementioned players?
from that reply i can only assume you think it okay to go into games with 10 or more midgets who are undersized and lack skill. i take it you also think it okay to go with one ruckman, well port went without one at all. one genuine key defender cmon man blind fredyy can see that sort of overall structure will win you few games.
hmm what sort of structure do i want to see.
in an ideal world assuming all are available and fit.
b/ dea thursfield connors
hb/ deledio post moore.
c/ collins martin newman.
hf/ taylor jack cotchin
f / astbury griffiths nason.
r/ graham tuck foley
int/ browne cousins jackson and then take your pick depending on needs. in that team there are just three midgets possibly four. it has heaps of height. lots of pace. plenty of size and a shedload of players in development. it also contains the majority of our better senior players. it also contains very few shocking kicks.
also if youngsters like dea and taylor are not ready they have obvious replacements in morton and mcguane.
all im saying is looking at most sides 4 thru 6 smalls is plenty 3 tall forwards seems to be the norm 3 tall backs and two ruckman. teams do not deviate from this very much its been a constant with the vast majority of successful sides for a long time now. big bodies is almost the be all end all if you want to win premierships.but we all know its just not big bodies its an over all balance.
ya know i come across all negative but im quietly confident with a lot of our younger players. i am confident we have the right coach and we are implementing good processes. bloody right we are on the right track but we have much to learn. all i have ever done is try to learn from those who have been successful.
