In this weeks "Inside Football" in the VFL section; Paul Amy is reporting that Coburg & Richmond are about to announce a 3 year extension to their alignment to go through until the end of 2014. Staggering if true - would think there would have to be "out clause" for both clubs

On top of that I have to say that goes against the email a friend of mine rec'd from Coburg's GM about a fortnight ago that said they (Coburg) were looking at extending the alignment for another season but Coburg was planning for and working towards being a "stand alone VFL team" in the future (read after 2012)

Keep an eye out for Justin Maddern who plays for the Bombers.

We should be putting him on our rookie list next year, could develop into a perfect 3rd forward option, with Jack and Big Ben, allowing Ty to solve our ruck woes.

The sooner we are not aligned the better.

Will be interesting to see which outcome becomes the outcome

Let's be hoping there is an out clause if its the 'unfavorable' outcome.

absolute joke if the alignment lasts past September 2011
but I guess laser levelling the punt road oval is essential to player development  ::)

Probably is gerks (re past sept 2011) but they need the FTF to be successful to enable us to have our own VFL side.

First lot of FTF monies is set aside for the re-configuration of Punt Road

For memory at the FTF dinner back in March thery said they needed to get at least $4.0-4.5 mil before we could do the VFL side of things

After last week I think we all agree that the $6 mil is unlikely to happen and I think right at the minute they will be lucky to get $4 mil to be honest

interesting to see miller named on the back line. I was wondering if he may do so back at coburg given our run of injuries to backmen

I think Jack said on the tellie a week ago the FTF is at $2.57m. With the average crowd last week I'd doubt we've added to that  :-\. Disappointing if we have re-signed the alignment for another 3 years  :P although that does fit in with our current 5 year FTF plan which ends in 2014.
