I know i bring it up. I have seen other people say it quite a few times before. You're right, it is unfair lumping everyone into that basket. should have said "some" who attend act that way :thumbsup But yep, I do find it fairly annoying and funny at the same time when people say "whoa, a great night but sworn to secrecy". And I like to take the pee out of them for saying it ;D

Fair play to the folk who attend that don't act like wankers.

Well summed up WP, I agree with you 100%.

Club 80% Wankers.  :thumbsup

FWIW from my perspective there's a definate wanker element to club 80, as in, I repeatedly hear the whole sworn to secrecy stuff, amongst other self indulgent comments.

And that's in person and across many forums.

Do you reckon when Piva dreamed of the fame and fortune that would come if he was drafted this thread was what he imagined?

Can I say first up I don't think you are not being fair lumping everyone who attends into the same basket but I will grant you that there are probably people who believe that again intentionally or not...but can I say it isn't just with people who attend Club80  ;D

I hope I'm not one of these people you are referring to. I maybe getting a little paranoid here but WP weren't you the person who PM'ed me saying I shouldn't mention anything that was said during the function after I made, what I felt was, an innocent comment about Piva? I understand you were following the directive of the club but we need to be careful who we are trying to appease here.

I will make sure I mention no information of any kind from the function here as per your and Club80's instructions but please don't try and say that I was trying to be condescending or big note myself when I was quite willing to share a little harmless information in isolation. I never mention anything about any other 'secrets' that were great but I just can't share... ::)

In the end, those who attend Club80 functions and other Tiger Supporter organisations should be applauded rather than belittled. At least they are putting more money into the club and helping Richmond become a better organisation rather than sniping from the sidelines. Time to get our priorities right methinks.... :shh

You put in some extra money to go to some info/meet players and coaches type thing, cool. good for you. The rest of us that don't go still buy memberships and are passionate Tiger fans. WGAF really .I don't think WP was having a whack at you. He was hinting at the knobs who say "what a great night. got some great info but of course I was told it in confidence." "sworn to secrecy" (no poo some people have actually said that). Those people poo me...not because I really give a damn what they've been told but the fact they like going on forums and talking like they've just been told something incredible.

Definitely not talking about you Stripes so yep I reckon you are being a bit paranoid  :thumbsup

I never ever said you were being condescending because as I said I wasn't referring to you.

I was making a general comment about what i have witnessed over a long time attending not only at these functions but as I said other business functions. I also made the comment that in many cases it is not intentional but it is just the way it comes across. At no point did I direct it at any one person on this forum or any other forum. it was simply an observation

Believe it or not I was trying to "defend" the constant bagging Club80 seems to get because of this  "secret club" perception that has built up over a period of time which IMHO is unfair on a group that is just trying to it's very best for ther RFC

What's the old saying about it only takes a few bad apples....

So for the finally time and so we are absolutely clear I wasn't referring to you

Absolutely agree with you on this hence why I said that "I don't think you are not being fair lumping everyone who attends into the same basket" which was the point of my og my orgingal post..

Because it seems people like you and me Stripes are getting "belittled" simply because we attend these functions which isn't fair on us or Club80

I understand your angst. It's like a someone telling you as a pimple faced teenager that they know a chick who wants to blow your world but they can't say who - I get that. What I don't get is that you can't see that becoming a member to these type of organisations isn't just 'cool, good for you' but also is of a great benefit to the club. Doesn't mean we should all bow down to those who fork out the big buck just because they can afford it but it does mean we don't put them down about it either.

I'm sure WP wasn't having a whack at me - as I said just my paranoya playing up   :inquisition :outtahere

I think we were/are more having a go at the people who say you can't talk about it, not the people who attend, at least I was.

Sorry WP - I'll go take my medication now.  :-[  I know you are involved in many 'supporter groups' and while I would love to be able to be join such groups i just don't have that sort of cash about at the moment. While I'm a little envious of you and still think you are helping the club greatly with the extra groups you're involved in. We are all passionate supporters and help anyway we can. Club80 members are no different despite the so called 'secrective sprukers' it sometimes seems to attract.

Once again sorry mate.
