* In summary, we know what went wrong against the Bulldogs and we will work on this at training so it's right for the Brisbane game.

Apart from Rance, we were a bunch of pussies. How do we fix that?

Hardwick will be outcoached by Leppitsch this week. Just watch. Hardwick should get the arse.

That's actually a really interesting point. If dimma isn't as clueless as some of us think, he should easily have a club lacks covered.

I'll be watching and waiting.....

“I find it nearly impossible to make those judgments, but he is certainly up there with the really important ones, he is certainly up there with the Francis Bourkes and the Royce Harts and the Kevin Bartlett and the Kevin Sheedys, there is no doubt about that,” Balme said.

Back to the topic ppl.

Dimma talking about our pressure and intensity inconsistency:

Q. Pressure acts and intensity - How to get the players to bring that level of intensity and hardness at the contest to every round?

A. Probably the art of coaching in essence. Funnily enough our best offensive games are based off our defensive capacity also. Cotchin lead from the front in that area against Brisbane - he had 10 possession gains in our forward half which is a stat you don't see very often. He set the scene in regard to that. Our players were disappointing in that effort against the Bulldogs. Really pleased with the effort on the weekend. We saw a lot of Richmond players come into the screen at speed to place tackle pressure. Our pressure put Brisbane under enormous pressure and applied pressure on the night. Managed to create 30 forward-half turnovers which is a terrific result for us. So from our point of view, it's something we've been focusing on. We knwo we play our best footy when that is first and foremost in our mind and we'll be looking to do the same against the Dees this weekend. We know it's going to be a high tackle, high contested and high stoppage game. We've got to come with our very best and I've got no doubt the boys will live up to that and get the result we're after.

Dimma's dissection for the Melbourne defeat ...

VIDEO: http://www.richmondfc.com.au/video/2010-04-28/dimmas-dissection-r4

--------------------------------------------

Q. Asked about having more inside 50s yet losing. Is it more about leaking easy goals on the rebound?

Dimma:  Leaking easy goals on the rebound means there's been an overall structural breakdown. A combination of poor kicks to top of the 50 arc which Dimma calls the "trampoline zone", mistackles as opposition tries to break out, and losing critical contests with the opposition's exit kick which allows the ball over the back.

Q. Why do we kick to the pockets where the conversation rate is 20% when shots in front could end up in us kicking 15.6?

Dimma: We did go to the pockets but Melbourne defend the arc very well and the only space is in the pockets.

However, we kicked on Friday night:

3.8 from the corridor which went a long way to costing us the game.

1.10 from between 30-50m out.

3.6 from set shots.

Bad kicking leads to bad footy and it's been a coming theme for us this year. If you don't take your chances early, you fail to put scoreboard pressure on the opposition and it comes backs to bite you. Showed gettable misses by Griffo x3, Lloyd, Jack and Cotch. Jack's around the corner technique has been scrutinised but he has 80 shots at week at training do it and normally goes at 80-90%.  We're normally good with our goalkicking rated #3 in the AFL in 2014. So we'll work to get it right again.

* We sit 2-2 and 9th which is not where we want to be. We wanted to be 3-1 or 4-0 after the first block of 4 games. However, we remain positive starting with Geelong this weekend.

Dimmer's Deception. :thumbsdown

I'd like to see his strategic game day dissected with as much vigour.

Did you see in Dimma's video the play where Morris was off his opponent, then fell over and the coach didn't even comment about it?  Protected species!

He probably blamed one of the young players for spitting water on that spot causing Morris to slip over.
