As RFC fans lament. You can polish a turd get the tarn off and shine it up till it glows like a new penny but at the end of the day its still a turd.

While that's all very well, what kept coming into my mind as I watched today (particularly Gus) was how many of our players can't run or jump or catch or kick.
Aside from the fact the majority of the team showed minimal football understanding and NO effort to team together, how is it possible that Gus can be on an AFL list for over six years and demonstrate lower physical skills than when he started. I can remember Gus in the open training session when he first joined Richmond keeping Richo flat out in a 400 metre run. Now he can't get out of a jog, his leap is a foot, takes seconds to change direction etc. Browne is also no more athletic than when he arrived in 2008 and probably worse if you compare his TAC form to wehat he delivers now.

Of course the usual thing is to blame Hardwick and the other coaches, after all they've been there for since the 2010 season.
