Port 159 Brisbane 46 FT

Schulz kicks 7. Remember Mitch Farmer anyone.

Lions battered and bruised and playing us on Thursday.

Prediction - we'll have scrappy win by 4 goals or less, Hardwick ("oh look we were under no illusions.... they're a completely different side up here") will celebrate like it's a finals victory, Grigg will get 30 useless posessions, Vickery will kick 4 gimme goals, Shank will fluke another 3, Newman will have his one good game for the year, this will be enough to reaffirm Hardwick's faith in the "essential role players" and convince him he's still on track.

Unchanged side for Hawthorn - big talk all week about how we "have the wood on them"....followed by a 12 goal thrashing by them....followed by 15 goal thrashing by Geelong....barring injuries, unchanged side for all three games.

Then it's Melbourne and the crossroads.....
:lol :clapping

Normally I'd be mad if that happened. But my care factor has hit zero. Don't give a stuff anymore. Feels so much better.  :lol

1/4 time of the Dogs game reality hit. We are poo and probably always will be. No point fighting it anymore. Made the rest of that game bearable and the Pies game I don't even know why I went.  :lol

Footy completely fell off my radar from about 2002 to around 2008-2009. There were even a couple seasons in there I didn't watch a single game. Love the game, always have, but when there is little to cheer about it gets old. With Richmond it gets old much quicker. My old man laughs at me when I crack it when we're at the footy. He reckons he is so far over it he doesn't even let it upset him anymore  :lol

Yep no emotion from me either.
I gave this regime a chance but have lost all emotion on the club and I just feel comfortably numb about all this. Love the club and the footy but just sick of investing everything in the hope of achieving success and getting little in return.
Once long time members reach a point and simply shrug their shoulders and move on at the long term lack of improvement then this club is truly stuffed because kids want to be associated with winners and no influence from parents and such may change things.

Tbh I'm just kinda over the whole AFL. The drugs thing ruined it last year. Now that we have just fallen off a cliff again, I'm close to done. Being a uni student who has no time to work forking out for a 16 gamer and MRC (as a donation seems I don't actually use the membership, or the MRC component and we will never make a GF) I am starting to wonder why the stuff am I bothering?  :banghead

Reckon the above is the general feeling of a lot of people about the Australian Football League.
Richmond FC aside..
Expansion franchises hoarding draft picks for quick success, tanking, salary cap breaches, doping & ticket prices all have a diehard supporters scratching their heads...what has footy become?  :huh

I have a 16 gamer reserved plus for me and the missus too and we're saving for a house. Nearly a thousand bucks that would have come in handy right about now. Footy is to enjoy, we all have the right to get excited about our team winning. Despite the ending I had a lot of fun last year and being able to join in banter with some mates of more successful clubs was good. Now we're back to the dung pile and I just can't be stuffed.

i still join in. Just means I have to bag us instead. To cap it off I had a text yesterday saying that the next monthly payment is coming out of my account. You start to realise you're not getting anything out of this "deal"

Numb about the tigers. Sick of waiting year after year. Like to watch us play but not emotionally committed anymore.

Whole doping thing was a hit on the game from my perspective.

But perhaps moreso, the expansion clubs being gifted such an armchair ride to premierships which will mean stuff all to their handful of supporters and we (and some other clubs) have to scrap every 4-5 years to get a semi decent list together which ultimately goes nowhere because of incompetant fooltards and a tilted table.
