At the moment our football department is a mess.No idea to many exuses and not enough action. We lack football brains bigtime and a clear direction.Gale is silent President is silent.Cant understand how we have a premiership coach with us and a coach who played finals most years in Choco and his not Dimmas right hand man.

Am I missing something here?  Personally I would be more distressed if we didn't try to learn something about game plans from the reigning premiers & try to copy them!  They are the reigning premiers for a reason.  Should we try to copy Brisbane instead?
Naturally we can't be Hawthorn at this stage, but if we don't attempt to be like the best we can only ever be something less than that.  If you don't even try to do the most difficult (& the most skillful) things in the game you will never achieve them.  Narrowing yourself down to what is achievable is playing safe.  That, Jack, would be the greatest failure of them all.  Expecting us to play in an achievable style IS accepting mediocrity.
Hardwick is absolutely right to rapidly & repeatedly insert his foot up Jack's arse!  (I think Jack knows it too, he just stuffed up tragically in an interview with people who love a headline).

Richmond coach Damien Hardwick says Jack Riewoldt let his teammates down with criticism of Tigers game plan
Herald-Sun
May 22, 2014 10:56AM

DAMIEN HARDWICK: Our last year’s game plan we’ve pretty much got the same, we’ve also POLISHED a few things up — whether they’ve worked or not is a reflection of our form at the moment. Jack understands what he said and probably by his own admission would say ‘listen, I buggered that one up’. We’ll just work our way through it and move on.

The only thing that he's polishing are the mediocre turds in this side - Grigg, pet-TURD, hampson & edwards.

Even Griggs head is starting to shine it's been polished so much!  :banghead

You don't religiously follow a game plan that requires high skill level whilst constantly recruiting mediocre skilled players.  You play to the strengths of your playing list.   Hardwick is stupid.  Sack the BUM.

Finally someone from within the club came out and told the truth.  If you want to put a boot up someones arse, should have been Edwards, Grigg, Vickery and Co out the door.

Love what KB said at Hafey's eulogy that a coach would never get an extension back in the day for finishing 7th.  What a joke!

Unfortunately, even now, Hardwick hasn't recognize he is steering the titanic into an iceberg.  No matter how good the ship is, this terrible coach with his handpicked crew of recycled rejects is sinking fast.

Think now more than ever we need to win a couple of games, not for our ladder position but solely to take some media focus off the club. It's just one comment being analysed after the next, foot in mouth disease is rampant, win a game or two and the blowtorch is turned down and the club can go back to attempting to fix the problems we have behind closed doors.

Q: Will there be some form of discipline?

DH: We’ll work our way through that this afternoon. Like anything, with every action comes an equal and opposition reaction. We’ll work our way through that. We obviously have some standards that we abide by here and he went outside those.
But this is the problem Dimma. You claim we have standards (that's a laugh this year) and Jack went outside them and should be disciplined even dropped yet onfield we have the same players continually show poor standards, ill-discipline and go outside the boundaries of the fundamentals of footy yet they receive no discipline such as being dropped.

Furthermore, you yourself Dimma have made contradictory and quite frankly ridiculous public statements as have others from the Club this year treating us members and supporters (ie. the family) as mugs. Claiming we were better than last year when we clearly aren't and using injuries to three players as an excuse for losing to the Dogs and struggling to get over bottom side Brisbane when even with Lids and Rance back in the side we can't even beat a Melbourne side missing two key forwards and their full back.

Q: Will the leadership group be involved?

DH: Yes, of course.
So Chaplin who has shown no onfield leadership this year is going to judge Jack :facepalm.

Totally agree. Hardwick's failure to drop players who have performed consistently poorly has set the standards and as has his failure to accept responsibility for the losses. Constantly making excuses sets a bad example.  I actually felt sorry for Lids saying we were still a chance for the finals after the loss on Saturday. You could see he was forced to peddle club line without truly believing it

It's amazing how clubs implode when they have a string of losses (except the doggies who seem content with surviving)
It's that simple Spud
"I discussed (it) with my three daughters, my wife and my 82-year-old mum, because it has really affected me … If those comments … were made about one of my daughters, it would make the hairs on the back of my neck stand up. I would not have liked it at all.”

I agree with MT about dropping him for the same thing his babies do consistently on the field being hypocritical.

Also, this makes what Jack said all the more credible.

"Our last year’s game plan we’ve pretty much got the same, we’ve also polished a few things up — whether they’ve worked or not is a reflection of our form at the moment."

Need he be reminded one cannot polish a turd?

And it's Terrific, just terrific TM to see we are currently the main news on all news websites with the "threat" to drop Jack  :clapping

It wont suprise me the way things a going Jack ask's for trade I cant see him ending hi career at us you can see he's not happy. As people said atleast his honest Dimma and his crew got this preseason wrong bigtime changing the game plan and recruitment etc.Why change the gameplan when we just finished out of the top 4 last year ??? if anything we just needed to fine tune a few things.

Jack won't leave, he loves the club. He is actually the one player that you can tell loves this club like supporters do. Just need to chat with him for 5 minutes and you tell.  ;)

No doubt he is peeved at the moment but it is IMV because of how we are playing and our results not because he wants out.

As for Chaplijn as part of the leadership group having any sort of say in what happens to Jack, well that would go down as the most farcical event of season 2014 at the RFC
I used to think Jack would never leave but I'm not so sure right now. Love can only take so many hits and the thought of playing out his career at a club with NFI is something Jack will have to decide.
The RFC and mostly Dimma has hurt everything about Jacks game over the last 3 years. They have taken the personality right out of him and every bit of confidence he used to get from it.
Jack is a very proud man and he is quite smart when it comes to footy and he will work out soon that if he ever wants to play in a grand final he will need to find a new love.
Richo unfortunately wasn't that smart. Poor bugger....
And what's worse, I wouldn't  even be angry if any of our young stars decide to move on after seeing  the same sh$t happen year after year.
Money is great but when your career is over you don't remember the money, you remember your successes.

Nah very confident Jack will be at the club his entire career

Not so sure that Dimma will be his coach  ;D

The media throng was waiting at the northern entrance to Punt Rd Oval for Jack to drive out, so Jack skipped out the southern end and caught the train home from Richmond station  :lol.
