The problem you have when you send out next year's club calendar before the trade period is finished  :whistle.

Ivan Soldo (Richmond to GWS)

We say: Soldo could be part of the trade for Jacob Hopper, but the Giants also hold an interest in the Richmond ruckman as a player. He’s held a medical at GWS and it’s unclear where his future lies.

Not part of Hopper deal. So it seems Ivan is remaining at Punt Rd.

In my view he is a better ruckman then Nank. Glad he stayed but I was happy to see him go if it meant getting Hopper I will admit.

Coming of a major knee injury 2022 was just about getting back on the ground for Ivan and it hits big men more those injuries.

Good news, great option when we need to nullify a dominate tap ruckman

2nd year after a reco is always a better reference point
“I find it nearly impossible to make those judgments, but he is certainly up there with the really important ones, he is certainly up there with the Francis Bourkes and the Royce Harts and the Kevin Bartlett and the Kevin Sheedys, there is no doubt about that,” Balme said.

With 5 on the bench a good flexible option to have a decent 2nd Ruckman on the list
Go Tigers!

I think about the same. If they gave Hopper for him, that would be better.

Still think we need to get on the list a super athletic agile type instead of relying on dinosaurs like big ivan.

Would you have taken Grundy knowing that Pies were paying $300k out if his $900-1kk wage?

I would have.

700k per year for 5 years is still too much for me to spend on a ruckman not even considering his recent injury history. He isn’t a great tap ruckman either like gawn is, his strength is his around the ground work so in that sense he’s a similar type to nankervis.

I think they are hoping that Ryan will be the agile ruckman who will take over from nank long term.
